o1. ♌ action set in lobby
[It had been a while since Nepeta had been brought to this world. In all honesty she was not sure she could say how long it had been, something bordering a month if she had to venture a guess. A month full of a lot of time spent in the hospital, recovering from the brutal beating that Gamzee had given her, a month spent trying and failing to come to terms with the death of her moirail, and a month full of questions and paperwork by humans urging her to come to this strange place.
It really was enough to send any troll's head reeling, especially one so young as her. She wanted to get back up on her feet, she wanted to try and move on and make the best of her situation, but it was so hard to do when she couldn't even get herself oriented. She had always been the cheerful one amongst her group, the one others came to when they needed to get something off their chest but that was because she had always had Equius by her side. It wasn't even so much as what he did, as was just his presence that helped her stay strong through all their troubles but now he was gone, she was mysteriously in some world inhabited by humans, and no other troll in sight.
She had just come from a meeting where she had been told the rules of this place, and where she would be staying, but after that she'd been left to her own devices. At first it had seemed like a refreshing idea, it seemed she had not been allowed much time for peace of mind since she arrived in this world but now as she stood awkwardly in the lobby, watching people walking to and fro from whatever destinations she had in mind it didn't seem quite so grand.]

I guess so! My name is Nepeta.

Nice to meet you, [She stands timidly considering she is far from presentable at the moment, but she wouldn't forget her manners. As such, she bowed low, her long ponytails almost sweeping the floor as she did so before she stood straight.]
I'm Ronnae, Ronnae 'Mash Belore Ryllos.
no subject
It's nice to meet you too, Ronnae. I'm sure we'll be grrreat roommates!
no subject
Where are you from?
[She'd never met anyone like her before, but she was kind and friendly so she couldn't be bad at all! Maybe things were starting to turn for the best.]
no subject
And I'm a troll. What about you? [she was definitely curious to know more about this girl, apart from humans she didn't know of many other species capable of speech]
no subject
I knew trolls back home but they looked different from you.
I'm from Azeroth, and I'm a half breed...
Half-orc, half-elf actually...
[She hadn't gotten any discrimination in this world for her heritage so far... So here's hoping it doesn't start with her new roommate she thought~]
no subject
Azeroth, huh. What's it like? And what are the trolls from your home like? [the latter in particular was definitely relevant to Nepeta's interest. She had thought that she and her eleven friends were the last of the trolls.]
no subject
This is a male troll. (http://www.mantlestudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/troll-WOW-542x511.jpg) and this is a female troll. (http://th08.deviantart.net/fs71/300W/f/2010/210/1/4/Female_troll_by_queen_zombie.jpg)
[She pointed at the two pictures she'd drawn accordingly.] They have small soft fuzz all over their body that give their skin different colors, like green, blue, teal, purple, and others. There's also different kinds of trolls, Jungle, Ice, San, Shadow and other races of trolls.
[She sat back and looked up in thought.] As far as Azeroth goes, it's a fairly large world filled with many different environments and even more races. It's usually besieged by war and peace is hardly ever kept for more than two to three years. But it's home... Don't think I'd change it for anything.
[Ronnae then turned back to her new friend and smiled.] What about your world? How's it like?
1/2
Some trolls can sometimes look like that when they get older, especially when their horns grow out. Mine are kinda small. But we're all gray skinned, but we have diffurent kinds of blood! Like mine is green, but my moirail's is dark blue, and my best furriend's is teal.
There are all kindsa diffurent blood types, the entire rainbow with red being considered the lowest, and lavender the highest. People who are purple or higher are sea dwellers and [she gestures to her own cheeks, splaying her fingers out]
They have these gils that lets them breath under water!

Only kids are left on the planet and once we come of age we are given our job and we go to serve the empire on other planets. But there is always lotsa fighting back home, and the imperial drones do a lot of inspections where they cull trolls who aren't fit to be part of the empire.
But it's a really beautiful place. I think it's a lot nicer than here. It's too bright here.
no subject
So if you were a seafarer you tended to have the higher blood types? [she asked leaning forward with curiosity.]
We have spells to let us breath underwater, but there are races that have gills too! Like the Markrura, Naga and Murlocs.
[She then frowned a bit confused.] Only kids left on the planet? That's new, I've never heard of something like that. What's it like? And why do you need to serve the empire once you come of age? You can't stay in the world if you don't?
[Questions questions and more questions!]
no subject
[Spells, now that is something curious] So magic is real in your world? Can you do any?
Well to be honest it's...I don't really know all that well! Most trolls live in cities or in communes, or near them at least but I never purrticularly like them that much. I live out in the wild with my lusus so I can't really same much since I was never around many troubles except fur a couple. [that's the best answer she can give. The only reason Nepeta knows that a planet full of kids is strange is because all the other places she has heard of aren't like that. For her it's all she's ever known so the idea of adults sticking around is strange for her]
That's what the Empurress says, and what the Empurress says, is what gets done. Most trolls are all about being strong and militant and purrfect so if someone said they wanted to stay they would likely just get culled.
[Culling was usually the answer for everything back home.]
So does everyone who wants to say home on Azeroth? I kinda like that idea.
no subject
[She looked at her and smiled,] One of my cousins loved being in the wild over the normal cities, so did my best friend back home. Then again she followed the druidic arts and he was a hunter, so it was sort of expected they'd like that sort of life.
As for magic... [She blushed lightly and looked down sheepishly pressing her fingers together as she usually did when embarrassed.] I wasn't born with the ability to, but it's very real. Some of my family members are renowned scholars and spellcasters.
I can do magic-like things, but it's more of a natural ability enhanced by training. [That's the best she could explain how she could invigorate allies making them live longer in battle, make them hit harder, and send enemies fleeing in terror. Not to mention her ability to accelerate her regeneration.]
no subject
When she first began to observe humans she had been shocked at how, comparatively speaking, they were so peaceful despite how large their cities could be]
Magic-like things? Like what? [she was pretty eager to see!]
no subject
Right after that she issued a rallying command, furthering the boost to their health and longevity followed but another command, a battle shout, making your body feel stronger than before.
The effects of such abilities lingered varied times. The full effects diminished after a good five or so minutes.
Ronnae blushed and looked at her friend timidly, fidgeting a bit in place.]
T-those are the ones that h-help my allies and such... it's more for combat than anything really, I was part of the army and trained as a warrior...
no subject
She blinked and looked down at herself, patting her chest and legs as if she half expected something else to be there. She looked behind her at her tail which had been a weak, limp thing dragging behind her to see how it finally looked like something other than a broken appendage.
She lifted her arms up and down a couple times, and then looks at her hands.]
You did that? You can... [she turned her hands over, long sleeves falling down her arms to reveal some bruises and cuts that still remained--not quite as many as had been before]
You can heal?
no subject
I can enhance your healing, and your stamina, and empower your body. I myself can regenerate naturally but I can boost that up a hundred times if I need to for a short period of time.
[Her training had been majorly martial, aside from the things she had learned on the side from her parents and family members. Sometimes she wished she had learned the path of the healer or a caster... But she wouldn't lie, she enjoyed the thrill of combat a bit too much at times... A fact she was embarrassed about and never outwardly spoke of.]
no subject
Maybe if she had been able to do something like this, she could have helped Equius.
That small thought, conjured up a slew of other images of him, and the smile fell from her face as quickly as a toothpaste cap down the drain.]
no subject
It was something she needed herself more often than not, and if she could make her roommate feel better, then she definitely would do her best!]
Y-you alright? [she asked timidly.]
no subject
When she was her normal self, when she wasn't down Nepeta was an incredibly affectionate person. She loved to hug and tacklepounce people at random, but aside from Terezi she didn't often get hugged back.
But more surprising was just how Ronnae seemed to know that she needed it.
When the surprise wore off, Nepeta returned the hug, closing her eyes for a moment and taking comfort in the fact that someone seemed to care. Still, she didn't want to break down or explain all the things that had built up over the past month. At least not everything]
Y-yea it's just. I lost someone very impurrtant to me before I was brought here. I just though that maybe if I knew something like this, that maybe I might have been able to save them.
no subject
She hugged for a bit longer before moving back a little and giving her a small smile.]
I told myself the same thing constantly back during the wars. I wished wholeheartedly that I could have prevented many of the deaths that happened. And yet in my own way I did... Just not as many as I would have hoped for. We do what we can in life, and those who care about us and whom we care about appreciate that more than we sometimes think.
I'm sure your friend knew you did your best no matter the odds.
no subject
Thank you. You're real nice, Ronnae.
no subject
No need for thanks~ We're roommates now right? And maybe friends? And friends stick together~

Things would be okay.]
