TILT [Event!]
[Thursday morning, 0559 hours.]
[Garden as a whole abruptly drops two feet.]
[The facility strikes the ground with a massive crash and shake that bears the full weight of every single one of its pounds. Loose items tumble to the floor and glass shatters in a cacophonous tumult that only serves as counterpoint to the greater and far more ominous crash of earth meeting metal. Massive vibrations race through Garden as different parts of it resonate with the force of the impact. Somewhere on the first floor, a chocobo literally screams in rage, a sound almost monstrous in its inhumanity. The lights flicker and then go out entirely.]
[Like an earthquake -- and no one would blame anyone for mistaking the source of the crash and shake, if not for the sickening drop that had yanked everyone's stomach into their throat for a heartstopping moment -- the shaking, roar, and vibrations slowly fade away, leaving only panick, fear, and disarray behind. And very ominous silence. The power has failed; the lights are out, water does not flow, and besides the residents, nothing stirs.]
[Then... slowly, but inexorably, Balamb Garden begins to tilt.]
[OOC: This is a general reaction and mingle post! You may also make your own posts if you so desire. If you need a mod response to a thread for information or a reaction, please ping us through PM!]

And then the tilting.]
Shit! Shit shit shit shit
[He bolts out of bed, pulling his hair back along the way and with some force wrenches his door open before bolting across the hall and wrenching Marco's door open.]
Get Espio and Toby!
[he'll take care of the others. He skids to Namur's room, right next to his own, and tries the door though it seems stuck]
no subject
Damn things're tough shits. Oh! Hey, bro. The hell's goin' on?
[Namur gets an arm and about half his chest out before he gets lodged. He grunts and pushes against the door some more, but it doesn't budge.]
Shit.
1/2
[Are you panicking?]
[Marco barely even noticed there was a problem.]
[He does put down the newspaper though, jam a few potions into his utility belt and head out into the hall.... whistling.]
[Look, panic all you want, but he's seen the Garden do dumbass shit like this before.] Espio and Toby will be fine, they survived a giant sword slicing the garden in half and the time we crashed in the snow with dragons running everywhere. And that was worse because Espio can't handle cold.
2/2
[Because he's going to kick that door down.]
no subject
[Because if Marco is fine. He's fine. He's as calm as hell. Really. This doesn't bother him a bit. He shoves his hands in his pockets and tells his heart to calm the hell down. But the tilting. The tilting...]
Shit the car. I'll be right back!
[because say what you want but cars can't move by themselves]
1/2
What the bloody shi-- [It's then that Thatch comes in, cutting her off as she rubs her elbow when she fell the second time.]
They can take care of themselves! We need to figure out what's going on! [She gets to her feet again, looking around for shoes because she doesn't have any on at the moment. Finding her sneakers, Grell pulls them on quickly, still in sleeping pants and t-shirt. Her cats are hiding in their box, because out of all the toys she buys for them, they like a cardboard box.
She gets to her feet and joins Marco. Namur's stuck, hmm?]
no subject
NAMUR! GET OUT THE WAY!
[She'll not wait much more before slicing open the door with her DEATHSCYTHE in two diagonal cuts. After, she kicks it in, seeing the pieces fall easily.]
no subject
[Jeez guys. He wasn't stuck, the door was. Namur slips out easily enough when Marco tells him to, and tries to find some sort of perch since the tilt keeps getting progressively worse and he needs handholds.]
'S alright, guys. Can jus' hop out the HOLY SHIT!!!
[He barely as time to dive behind the couch- which is now on the wrong side of the room- before pieces of the door go flying across his dorm.]
Damn, dude! Take it easy!
no subject
Where did everyone go? [Steps outside just in time to see Grell free Namur.]
Hey, what's going on? [He looks kind of adorable yawning and rubbing his eye while standing there in just his shorts and his tousled hair and freckles.]
no subject
Oh nothing major. [All the deadpan.] The Garden is crashing, maybe under attack, maybe not, but we need to make sure no one gets squished. How was your sleep? Any nightmares?
Kitten, Namur, check everyone else on this floor or help Thatch in the garage. Those god damn cars are always the worst in these things! And if I know Espio, he'll be running to check on them too. I'm using haki to check on Toby, send up a signal if you need help!
no subject
By the time he got to the garage his hands were shaking and clammy with sweat and his breath was harsh in his chest. It didn't look too bad. Some of the cars had slid back and Blue Minuet was mostly unharmed except for an armored vehicle which had slid in front of it. Blocking it. Did the Garden tilt again or was it his imagination?]
Shit!
[Thatch got his fingers under the bumper and tried to pull the heavy ass thing back, muscles straining]
no subject
girlsstrong, capable people and would probably think it weird if he did. So he arrives at the garage not far behind Thatch.]Bro, yer goin' t' break somethin' tryin' t' lift like that.
[Not that Namur does it any better. But being a Fishman and naturally a lot stronger, he manages to pull the thing out of the way in short order.]
How's she look?
no subject
[he can't tell. He can't tell. Should he check for internal damage? He clutches his hair with shaking hands]
How are we going to get her out? [they were falling gate side. There had to be some other way]
Blow a hole in the wall.
[he had his emergency thingy in the glove compartment somewhere.Thatch slid into the car, braining himself on the top of the door and blinked to clear the snapping sparks from his head as he pawed through the glove compartment for whatever it was. Would Thundaga work? Maybe a summon? Something? Anything!]
no subject
Grell appears next to Thatch, propping herself with her chainsaw acting as a sort of cane. Is he really trying to move the car? Priorities.]
Did you want me make that hole in the wall? [She already made scrap out of Namur's door.]
no subject
[Grell is apparently on a roll this morning. But he shakes his head.]
No, we ain't blowin' a damn hole in the wall. Ain't nowhere t' drive her if we do anyway, 'less she can fly.
[Garden shifts again, and the cars around them skid.]
no subject
Yes. Hole in the wall. Then in the car both of you. If we have to fly we'll fly.
[and then they'd get back in the Garden somehow, to help Marco if they could.]
no subject
We're wasting time arguing! [Grell takes up her chainsaw and runs quickly to the end of the parking lot, revving up her weapon and proceeding to have at the wall. It's more of a haphazard dance than anything practical, but after a few hurried movements, she kicks out the wall, revealing a humongous hole about fifteen feet high and ten feet wide.
But what she finds is...startling. There isn't anyplace to go, since...]
Are...ARE WE ON A CLIFF?! [She climbs over any debris and sticks her head out, seeing that yes, they are pretty much teetering towards doom. There's lots of land behind them, though. It gets her mind going a million miles per millisecond. She whips her head back to Thatch and Namur.]
GET IN THE CAR NOW! [She's running back to them!]
no subject
[Good guts Thatch has lost it.]
Car ain't got wings, y' slughead!
[His fist is up, though whether he's going to try grabbing Thatch out of the car or punching him in the face Namur still isn't sure.
Then Grell yells that they are on a cliff.]
A CLIFF?!?
[Well, shit. He lowers his arm, completely at a loss. Ain't like they're going to make good enough time to get away from Garden before it goes skidding into... well, whatever it might be that's down there. But Grell is coming back, yelling at him to get in the car and that seems as good a thing as any to do at this point.
Namur leaves the door open for Grell, then pushes off of Li'l Blue's roof to vault to the other side, and climbs in.]

I'm trying to figure out where Espio is, he's the only one I trust with brains enough to fly this thing.
