[It's lunch time in the cafeteria and Akiela is currently sitting by her lonesome at a table with several books sprawled across the surface.  Clearly, classes have hit her hard.

Very hard.  She's practically slumped over the table in a dead faint.  You might even think she's sleeping... if it weren't for the tiny fact that she seems to be talking to herself.]

... inally I need you morons and you're not around.  You know what this reminds me of?  That one time we were in Ballista and Refie and Drazen decided it'd be hilarious not to pull through with the pincer attack.  That was a saaaad day for San d'Oria.  [A sigh.]  I still think Meryl should have made you guys pay for our infirmary fees...

I am hardly the most creditable source but... [she pauses, then launches eagerly into the stories] There are the lights of Qufim Island, a myriad of bright colors flowing across a clear night sky. Once, my entire party stopped in the middle of our mission to watch them until they had passed. Then there are rainbows of La Theine Plateau. They say that whenever a summoner is born, a double rainbow will hang over the Crag for the entire day, whether there is rain or not.

There are the shores of Bibiki Bay, whose waters are so clear that you can see to the very bottom throughout the whole bay. As well as the forests of the Sanctuary of Zi'tah whose trees are said to reach up to the clouds. I've also heard rumors of a floating land that hides even higher than that. [She pauses, then grins.]

It's... a very beautiful land. [Whoops, she's embarrassed by her rant.]

[Grins back.] Sounds like it, eh. So when summoners are born...?

We have sky islands back home, but they're a pain in the ass to get to. See some of the ocean's minerals wind up there and harden the clouds. I guess that's probably how they make seastone, eh.

Ah, well, not so much born as made. Those who come into contact with the spirits of Vana'diel and defeat them are said to be able to wield their power in turn. They are then able to summon those spirits to do their bidding, hence, summoners.

Harden the clouds? [She looks both baffled. And intrigued. But mostly baffled.]

Right well, the ocean in my world has a different sort of energy to it than here, eh. To me it feels more like death in my world, but I think that's because of my devil fruit. It's harder. Maybe from seaking bones or I don't know what. But usually when water evaporates, it's just the water that goes up, right? Sometimes in my world, some of the ocean's chemicals, more than just the salt, they go up with it, but when it starts solidifying into the the clouds, it hardens them.
