[It's lunch time in the cafeteria and Akiela is currently sitting by her lonesome at a table with several books sprawled across the surface.  Clearly, classes have hit her hard.

Very hard.  She's practically slumped over the table in a dead faint.  You might even think she's sleeping... if it weren't for the tiny fact that she seems to be talking to herself.]

... inally I need you morons and you're not around.  You know what this reminds me of?  That one time we were in Ballista and Refie and Drazen decided it'd be hilarious not to pull through with the pincer attack.  That was a saaaad day for San d'Oria.  [A sigh.]  I still think Meryl should have made you guys pay for our infirmary fees...

[Akiela sits up and makes a face when a piece of paper sticks to her cheek. She'll pull that off drearily and give you a sleepy thumbs up.]

[Hears the conversation and stops beside her with a raised eyebrow. There seemed to be no one about her either.]

Talking to yourself is not healthy, no matter what world you come from.

And studying hard it would seem. [Is no longer carrying around bottles of green tea to give to people since the nightmares went away, but holds up a finger.] Hold still and breathe, eh? [And soon returns with a freshly brewed bottle and sits down across from her.]

[Akiela opens her eyes to look up at you with a confused, possibly half-conscious stare. After a moment she gives you a tired smile and a little wave.]

Hello Gakupo, I find it very therapeutic. ... or I might, if I were talking to myself. ... though I sort of am at this moment. I'm not quite certain anymore. How are you, by the way? [Rambles.]

I'm... trying? I don't know how much of it is actually taking though. [She gives a sheepish laugh and blinks when Marco poofs, only to reappear with a bottle. She gives it a curious head tilt while straightening into an upright position. A brief run of her fingers through her hair reveals not two or even three, but five writing utensils.

She makes a face and sets them down.] I failed holding still but I'm still breathing. Do I still get the prize? ... whatever it may be?

[Stares at.]

Okay... drink the tea.

Have you ever studied... oh... anything before?

Thank you. [She picks up the bottle and gingerly uncaps it before taking a careful sip. Once she's certain it's not some nasty herbal remedy, she'll take a bigger mouthful before setting it down.]

If I say no, will you give me a look that will make me feel bad?

[She laughs and gives Marco a much more lively smile than she did before. The tea is certainly helping.]

I haven't, not like this anyway. Book work was typically left for those who were nobility, wealthy or intended to work for the cathedral. It doesn't help that I've never pursued a mage class before either.

[Sits next to her, since clearly, she needed real people to talk to. He was getting a bit worried.]

Mage class? Heh, well I guess at least you don't have to nearly re-learn everything about the world's fighting styles, eh?

All right first off... you're trying to do all at once. Classes are divided into periods. Divide your studying that way.

Secondly, take breaks. A fifteen minute break after an hour two is a lot better for studying than just studying 2 hours straight. You brain is like a muscle. You have to give it time to absorb things.

[Starts organizing her books and papers by classes and then class types.]

[Somehow, in her addled state, she realizes she's being a bit... strange. She gives a little sigh and tries to reassure you with a less tired smile and a more... hapless, one.]

I've a newfound hate for knowledge... and I'm a little homesick. That's all.

[Watches in ill-concealed awe. Marco is so... together.]

Sort of. In my world, magic was learned by those who had the desire and aptitude for it. Right now, the only thing I can somewhat understand is the theory of GFs. [Just, sipping her tea and watching Marco go at it, nodding her head slowly at his words.]

Classes can have that affect on most people. [Smiles softly.] If you're homesick, why not do things that remind you of home?

[Akiela gives a tiny laugh and pulls something from within her shirt. It's a tiny shell with a chain looped through it.]

I was trying. I've always wondered how long the range is on these things but it seems crossing worlds is the final limit.

I would think so too. You look like you're talking to yourself. [Chuckles softly.] Isn't there anything else? Dancing? Singing? Knitting?

Heh. I guess in some ways I do have an advantage then. Some physics and chemistry appears to be universal. Economics too.

All right. These are stacked by class type. Rather than spread them all open at once, just stick to the one class you're focusing on. Otherwise you'll never find anything, eh?

[She laughs outwardly then.] I've no talent as a bard or seamstress. As for a dancer... [She pauses.] ... Maybe one day.

No problem. Like you said, you've never done this before, and they don't exactly have a remedial class in how to study.

So what's your schedule anyway?

[She timidly pokes through the neatened stacks, enough to grab the corner of one sheet that had been stuck between the pages of a textbook. With a careful tug, she pulls out her schedule and hands it to Marco with a grin.]

As the counselor politely put it, it's boring.

Well you've got boxing and drama. Actually it looks a lot like my last semester's schedule. All right, so far you mentioned doing best with the Guardian Forces. I guess the practical field application helped, eh?

Hm.

As for Garden Code, you're probably best studying that with Kamui. He's who helped me get through my midterm. Couldn't have done it without him.
