[It's lunch time in the cafeteria and Akiela is currently sitting by her lonesome at a table with several books sprawled across the surface.  Clearly, classes have hit her hard.

Very hard.  She's practically slumped over the table in a dead faint.  You might even think she's sleeping... if it weren't for the tiny fact that she seems to be talking to herself.]

... inally I need you morons and you're not around.  You know what this reminds me of?  That one time we were in Ballista and Refie and Drazen decided it'd be hilarious not to pull through with the pincer attack.  That was a saaaad day for San d'Oria.  [A sigh.]  I still think Meryl should have made you guys pay for our infirmary fees...

[A strange girl with pointy ears, but hey, she's certainly not going to bite that finger off. Have her turn to face you. Or rather, have a sheet of COD 101 notes turn to face you. After a barely concealed mutter of annoyance, she peels the sheet from her forehead and puts it back on the table to give you a mild grin.]

... I don't study frequently, actually. [Have a soft laugh at that as she leans back and sighs.] It's a shame. My first world crossing and I happen to land in one that values the written word.

We do but I've never had to use it so... extensively, before.

The first years of classwork were more a mix of both but I haven't been to a school to learn in years. Once we were taught the basics, most of us, those that didn't aim to be mages, went on to learn the ways of the battlefield.

Well the threat of a giant lizard does break the atmosphere once in a while but otherwise it feels quite homey. [Her lips quirk upwards in an amused, somewhat teasing grin.]
