[Sitting in the cafeteria, Rinoa's currently pouring over all the new course offerings as she tried to figure out once again just what her current plans for the future were.Ultimately it was a pretty big decision after all and she didn't want to rush into it like she tended to do with some things.

Rubbing at the tiny frown lines on her forehead, she sighed and turned to her attention to the apple she was eating. What she wasn't admitting to herself was the fact that she was just using the classes as an excuse to put off what was currently eating at her the most. Which of course was talking to Squall about the latest newsletter, but after last time she was actually a little reluctant to bring up that column again. Not that it was going to stop her in the long run or anything like that, but it did a great job in stalling her up temporarily.

So if anyone wanted to stop by and maybe: eat their meals together, talk about classes, or anything like that she would totally be up for the company.]

Hey there Rinoa. This seat taken? [Points to the one across from her.]

[Looking up, Rinoa offered Marco a small smile.]

Of course it isn't, go ahead Marco.

[Cheerfully takes the seat and glances over the course list.]

Working out your schedule for next semester?

I'm trying to. There's just so many options it's hard to figure out!

[Nods.]

I like it better this way. I actually get to focus on the things I like best instead of trying to cram everything just to graduate as fast as possible, eh?

I never got to go to school before. It's kind of a luxury for me, strange as that must sound.

It's nice being able to take my time so that I can learn everything, but at the same time I kind of want to hurry up and graduate too.

It is? [Curious look.] You know, I don't think I really know all that much about your home world really, not in the end.

Heh, well how long have you been studying here?

My world is pretty different from all this, that's for sure.

[And Ryoji is standing nearby with a sandwich in hand, but he hasn't sat down yet as he hasn't been given an invitation to. He may be forward, but he is polite.]

[That had been so out of left field as she really hadn't been expecting it, this caused her to look up with a laugh.]

Is that so?

[She tilted her head, it's been a while since anyone's actually flirted with her instead of the other way around.]

[Ryoji answered her laugh with an even bigger smile and gestured to the seat before sitting down.]

I thought so. A smile really does suit you better.

[She'd been in a rather dull mood, so this was certainly a nice pick-me up. He was cute and apparently a flirt, he could so stay.]

You certainly seem to be the sort who's better off with a smile yourself.

I'm Rinoa, I don't think we've really met before.

I'm Ryoji. And since I've only been here about a week, it's not surprising that we've hadn't met before.

[Here, Ryoji gives her an even bigger grin.]

But now that we have, I'm glad that I've gotten the chance to meet such a fair maiden.

Ryoji. Right. [She repeats it slowly making sure she has the pronunciation right.] That makes sense, I try to at least have an idea who all the cute guys on Garden are after all.

[Two can play the flirting game, typically it's more fun that way too. No she's not subconsciously doing this to get back at that jerk, he's totally not even on her mind right now.]

A fair maiden? Does that make you a handsome prince or a dashing knight?

[She winces internally at that, stupid knights. Knights weren't all they'd cracked up to be.]

[ There goes Terra, interrupting people's lunches. So rude. But she's looking more curious than intrusive. She's got her own piece of paper in hand too, so there's a good chance that she either had the newsletter or the course list. Possibly both. She had a pretty good idea on what her specialization would be, but other than the physical courses, she had no idea what to take. ]

[It took a second to register as Rinoa had pretty much completely spaced out, but after a moment she looked up and smiled.]

Hi. I haven't seen you in a while. Sit down? We can catch up on things.

[ Terra ducked her head a little with an apologetic smile, but she pulls a chair aside to sit across from her friend. ]

I apologize. I suppose I've been ... [ ...hiding. ] a little preoccupied of late, I haven't done much socializing. [ Partially because she hadn't seen her roommate in forever, which left her perplexed. Was it normal for people to go missing? ]

How have you been doing? No more nightmares...?

It's okay. I think everyone's been a little out of it lately due to all the nightmares. [Just take the out Terra, it was fine.]

Much better, I'm actually getting sleep again, it's a nice feeling. How about you? Have you been doing okay?

[ Terra smiles sympathetically. Yeah, not waking up screaming or feeling like you're covered in blood and murdered your best friends while some clown laughed and taunted you is a wonderful thing. ]

I quite agree. But yes, I've been doing a lot better. I think I've finally gotten the hang of the way things are here. [ Although the newsletter frightens her, to be completely honest... Not that she's afraid of the outworlders, but the reactionary ones who are immediately pointing the finger at them. ]

Was I interrupting your lunch?

[And worst of all there was no chocolate yet, so it probably wasn't caused by someone on Garden after all. Because surely they would have apologized right? Even without a name chocolate would have been a great apology. Or so Bulla had decided and Rinoa agreed]

It's not so hard to get used to, but I guess I can't be a very good judge about that can I? [They could be frightened of the news in the newsletter together then.]

It is now. [Rinoa waves back, more than happy to see Bulla again.] Have you decided on your classes yet?

Well, mostly I'm going to take more of the compulsory courses. Maybe a couple of electives that seem like fun. Maybe more physical classes so the homework won't be too bad.

I'm still trying to pick a specialty for fighting. I was thinking of martial arts, but there are a lot of interesting weapons here.

How about you?

I'm not really sure. I definitely want to get more compulsory classes out of the way or at least as many as I can anyway. Ballroom should at least be fun so that's something I know I'll be taking. Other than that I don't know.

I'd thought about several different specializations but I'm not sure if I really want to focus on attack magic really. [A sorceress majoring in attack magic was a little much perhaps.]

I favor distance weapons typically, but I thought it might be kind of fun to learn something new. Expand my horizons a little.

I was kind of surprised that they made Ballroom a required class. Not that I'm complaining, but it doesn't seem to fit in with the other compulsory courses.

Maybe you could focus on healing magic and a weapon. Maybe something that's not as close range as martial arts if distance weapons are your thing. A blunt weapon, maybe?

All SeeD have to be able to dance.

[She schooled her face into a deadpan and launched into a rather mediocre impression of Squall. Largely because she used way too many words.]

It's a required skill in case a SeeD should ever have to infiltrate a party while on a mission.

[Rinoa shook her head after that, rubbing at the middle of her forehead where the frown lines had been.]

I don't see how he can keep that expression for so long.

I'm not sure if I even want to focus on magic at all.
