[Sitting in the cafeteria, Rinoa's currently pouring over all the new course offerings as she tried to figure out once again just what her current plans for the future were.Ultimately it was a pretty big decision after all and she didn't want to rush into it like she tended to do with some things.

Rubbing at the tiny frown lines on her forehead, she sighed and turned to her attention to the apple she was eating. What she wasn't admitting to herself was the fact that she was just using the classes as an excuse to put off what was currently eating at her the most. Which of course was talking to Squall about the latest newsletter, but after last time she was actually a little reluctant to bring up that column again. Not that it was going to stop her in the long run or anything like that, but it did a great job in stalling her up temporarily.

So if anyone wanted to stop by and maybe: eat their meals together, talk about classes, or anything like that she would totally be up for the company.]

I was kind of surprised that they made Ballroom a required class. Not that I'm complaining, but it doesn't seem to fit in with the other compulsory courses.

Maybe you could focus on healing magic and a weapon. Maybe something that's not as close range as martial arts if distance weapons are your thing. A blunt weapon, maybe?

All SeeD have to be able to dance.

[She schooled her face into a deadpan and launched into a rather mediocre impression of Squall. ~~Largely because she used way too many words.~~]

It's a required skill in case a SeeD should ever have to infiltrate a party while on a mission.

[Rinoa shook her head after that, rubbing at the middle of her forehead where the frown lines had been.]

I don't see how he can keep that expression for so long.

I'm not sure if I even want to focus on magic at all.

A blunt weapon? I hadn't really thought about that, but I guess it would be interesting to at least try.

[The impression is enough to make Bulla giggle. Deadpan and stone-cold serious is not what she equates with Rinoa]

Seriously, that's the logic behind it? Well, I know how to party, so I guess I'm all set.

[She tilts her head, considering]

Or I could teach you how to throw a good punch if you wanted to try martial arts. I'm not anywhere near as good as my dad or brother, but I've been doing great in the self defense and movement classes.

Something like that. So that means if any SeeD tells you that he doesn't know how to dance? That he's lying and can dance just fine, he probably just doesn't want to for some reason.

[She looks down and fiddles with a string on her clothes before answering.]

Oh, I'm not cut out for martial arts that's for sure. I might have to consider trying a new weapon though.

I'll remember that! And try and talk him into it anyhow.

Well, is there any weapon that you always thought looked kind of cool? That's as good a reason as any to pick it for your specialty.

That's what I do, so far it seems to work pretty well. Seems if you can talk them into it once they're not so resistant the second time.

Kind of cool? [She'd have to think about this for a minute, there are a lot of weapons after all.] Well, gunblades have always looked really neat I guess?

I could always pull him onto the dance floor the first time. Then he'll have to say he chose to dance so he can save face.

[She leaves out the part where she'd have to be careful not to dislocate anything in the process]

So try a gunblade, then.

It's a pretty good tactic. Don't take no for an answer!

[After all that's what she'd done more or less in the end.]

Maybe you're right and I should. It couldn't hurt to at least try right?

It is just a dance, after all. It's not like a SeeD isn't going to have to do worse for the sake of a mission.

[Bulla nods in response to the comment about the gunblade]

You never know if you're going to like it or not if you don't try!

It worked when I tried it, so it's definitely worth a shot.

[Rinoa looks thoughtful for a moment before nodding her agreement.]

I like the way you think, so I'll definitely give it a try!

And I bet whoever you danced with secretly enjoyed the attention. Guys are silly like that sometimes.

If it doesn't work for you, there's so many other possible choices.

I might as well take my time on deciding on just one then. It's not like we're in a rush after all.

Well, you're super nice and pretty, so if he didn't enjoy the attention, it's his loss.

That's true. I haven't really practiced anything with Guardian Forces because I heard about the memory loss problems...but I guess I'll have to use them at least a little before the final exam.

You're right. It's not like there aren't other guys, right? [Yeah, like that would happen anytime soon. She's all talk. Not to mention entirely too set on him.]

It's a pretty serious thing to remember, because it really does affect your memory. Squall, Quistis, Selphie, and Zell all forgot about their childhood and how they all grew up together!

That's pretty scary. I think I'll stick with punching things and maybe some para-magic. At least some of the curing stuff. Powerful as they might be, I don't want to rely on Guardian Forces if I'm going to forget people I love.

It is pretty scary. Though I don't know if it always works like that. It seems to be a pretty unknown thing still.

[She pauses for a moment, looking thoughtful.]

Though maybe it's just that they don't remember that they forgot so they don't realize it.

It's not like you can really ask people to volunteer to test it out...unless they've got bad memories they really want to forget. But there's no telling what they'd remember and what they'd forget.

Pretty much. We're the only Garden who actually use GFs really. I think the others thought they were too risky and I can't say that I blame them.

I guess that the main thing is remembering the risks...and trying to fight without relying on them too much.

[Despite the grim conversation they'd been having, Rinoa smiles.]

[Bulla returns the smile. Sometimes, smiles are contagious. It's also nicer to think about than the idea of losing their memories to Guardian Forces]
