[Irvine is in the Cafeteria, crouched over a newsletter laid upon the table he's occupying. For the most part he's keeping a straight face as he combs through the issues, which doesn't take very long. (There's a slight tug at the corner of his lips towards the end, however.) When he appears to finish he sets the newsletter aside and leans back against the chair.

There's a lot begging to be discussed, though he isn't thinking too deeply on them. In fact, as per his habit he's also taking the time to eye a female cadet or two whenever she comes into view.]

[Grell walks by the male, face emerged in his own copy of the newsletter. He was frowning at its contents though.]

[Hears the voice addressing him and turns, grinning at the dashing male in very western garments. Toi bad Grell was taken, but he could still look but not touch. Places a hand on a hip, leaning a bit with a shrug.]

You could say that. It was interesting enough, but lacking.

[Guess who's seen the newsletter and isn't very pleased with it's contents?

Rinoa slid into the seat next to Irvine's with a rather loud, indignant sigh and then starts to drink her tea after setting down her own copy of the newsletter.

And for the record, it's not just the one thing that has her so disgruntled either, she's not that one dimensional. She's got quite a few things to sit and think about though so have at least a few moments of blissful silence before she starts in on whatever it is that's eating at her. Aside from the obvious.]

[Gee whiz. He'd expected some frustration the newsletter, but this isn't exactly what he had in mind. (The idea that it could be something else hasn't occurred to him yet.) Irvine greets Rinoa with a look and continued silence, allowing whatever is eating at her to settle marginally. Cue a pregnant pause, which he finally breaks after a while, cautiously.]

Rinoa . . . ?

Whoever she is, I don't think she likes me very much.

[It was stated matter-of-factly as she gave the name Chessy Delacreaux a rather sound look.]

Is she going to put something like that in every issue?

[She flipped the page and stared at the front page news, frown deepening.]

I don't think Garden really warned her, Irvine. Katara that is, she's the one who can manipulate water. I talked to her and it's like she really didn't understand just how people here are about [tiny pause before she pushes on.] about sorceresses and people like them.

[Add to that the growing unrest between Galbadia and Esthar and she wasn't really sure what to think. For some reason she'd thought that once they'd beaten Ultimecia things were going to be perfect somehow and reality was turning out to be something quite different.]

[Ken's just finished reading the newsletter and doesn't really know what to make of it. This world's politics are still rather fuzzy in the grand scheme of things, so he decides to let the adults argue amongst themselves and not worry about too much.

He stops short of Irvine and spots him eying the ladies.]

[Cute girl ahoy! Normally he would wave and flash an impressive grin, but she doesn't look up to that. Yet. So, Irvine cocks his head in her direction and speaks:]
