[Along the Dollet Beach students from the academy seem to have set up a small little beach party. There are blankets, coolers, Grell in a bikini, and even Marco is just hanging out in his beach shorts (although you won't ever see him go in the water.) There's even a beach volleyball area set up. Purely for the viewing pleasure of the guys watching. Seeing the scene you would never expect lots of violence that was about to befall.]

Because I was a baby or toddler with a penchant for putting things in my mouth?

I ate before I can even remember anything. My earliest memories I actually thought I was a phoenix and that being a human was just a disguise phoenixes had learned to master in order to fit in. [Facepalms at his younger self.] I've certainly never regretted it though.

[She laughs at that, fully amused at the thought of this strong, brawny fellow being so adorable as a child.]

I really can't imagine being a cow. Or even a bull. It might explain why no cattle devil fruit user ever reached great fame.

And are you famous?

Pops was. He's the strongest man in the world. And I don't mean that in a "My Daddy is the best" way, I mean he actually was. And everyone knew it. People were constantly trying to kill him so they could be famous for it, which meant there was a lot of crew for me to protect.

[Not that that really answers it, but Marco's not about to say "yes."]

You must be pretty strong then, to fend off every threat.

[Laughs.] Pops did most of the fending. I just had to be able to protect myself and everyone else I could.

I'm more in the financial organization end of things. He's got high-end tastes for alcohol, but no head for business. He'd just give everything away because he never wanted worldly possessions, just a family. Still takes money to feed a crew, eh.

[Says this all in deadpan, like he's as serious about this as he was about his Dad being the strongest ever.]

... which was...? [SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHETHER TO BELIEVE THIS OR NOT. FOR ALL SHE KNOWS, HE REALLY COULD HAVE BEEN RAISED BY FRUIT.]

[Carefully straightens his pineapple-looking hair. And now Akiela knows the dilemma his own crewmates have with him. On the one hand, he's probably guffawing up his sleeve at them. On the other hand, he's a nakama so they aren't going to call him a liar and really, who knows? It would actually explain a lot about him. And the Grand Line is beyond bizarre. There really could be roving bands of pineapples that adopt orphans.]

... oh. I am completely bewildered.

[BLANK. STARE. SHE WANTS TO DO EXACTLY THAT, CALL BULLSHIT BUT... IT MIGHT BE TRUE.]

That's okay. That's the haircut's primary function. After all, you're not a lost subject of Pineapple Island.

[Akiela can join his crew and if they show up, ask them. And they'll just tell her they don't know either. It's gotten to the point that his MUN doesn't know if he's lying or not. I just go with if it's proven wrong, he must have been lying. Otherwise it's a MYSTERY story.]

[She's just sitting here, listening to your tale with this rather blank, guarded stare. Rest assured, if anyone from his world shows up she'll ask them whenever conversationally polite if he's actually from a land of pineapples...]
