two. ● training center
[After studying for ungodly amounts of hours, Ken finally decided to take a break from the books and go out and do something. One thing led to another and Ken found himself in the Training Center where he met up with a T-Rexaur or the T-Rexaur met up with him... Either way, he's battling it now.
It doesn't appear that he needs any help but feel free to barge in and aid him if you feel like it. ...or, you now, you can watch the kid own the dino.]

[She sighs a little.] It was called the Crystal War. It... happened about 20 years ago.

It was a war against the Beastmen. There's a legend of their creation and ours... that is, my kind and the other four races of Vana'diel, but basically they were made to kill us. At first there wasn't that much to worry about, the Beastmen may have matched us in numbers, but they could only batter on the walls of our three great nations with their disorganized ranks and ill-trained men.
At least, until they found a leader, someone who rallied all of the Beastmen tribes together under his name and set them against us again with renewed strength, tactics and skills. He was called the Shadow Lord. Nobody really knows where he came from, by the time the world knew of his existence, he was already seated upon a throne in Xarcabard, leading them against us.
Suddenly we were facing a fully trained army who overwhelmed us with their newfound skills and numbers on nearly every front. Worse yet, each nation, unwilling to cooperate with the other two, attempted to engage the army separately. It was nothing short of tactical disaster.

It's fine. We made it out alright in the end. [Thousands died along the way and we lost an entire nation, but we digress. Ken doesn't need to know about that.] There was a fourth city, the Grand Duchy of Jeuno. Its leader, the Archduke Kam'lanaut, was the one to step up and call for a united front, thereby creating the Allied Forces of Altana.
With the cooperation of the four nations at last, along with the new technology provided by the Archduke, we were suddenly pushing back at the Beastmen, winning both battles and strongholds alike until we were finally at the feet of the Shadow Lord himself in the frigid land of Xarcabard. While the main army battled the might of the Beastmen army outside, a special force went into Castle Zvahl. Once they made it to the throne room, it's said there they battled it out with the might of the Shadow Lord himself, until the Dark Knight Zeid struck the final blow. [She is so very guilty of leaving out almost every bad thing of the war. The death, the massacre of Tavnazia, the political conspiracies that resulted in so much loss. No, there are some things about war people don't need to know.]
