If anyone who underwent a... change, during the battle, could drop by my office? I'm quite curious about it. I'd like to do some studies on it. No tests, you needn't worry about drinking any experimental potions! Just a few questions and some other minor matters depending.

[The Potions Professor is indeed hard at work, or at least as hard as he gets, since he makes potions look easy as a general rule. His office has a startling number of cauldrons heating brews, and the cloud of steam and smoke hovering at the ceiling has taken on a number of curious and different tones.]

They weren't nakama and allies only in the greater umbrella of the Garden--but that was enough reason to find himself standing outside Slughorn's office and knocking lightly]

[Marco knocks at the door to the open office and pops his head in, carrying a very large envelope.] Your quarterly phoenix feather supply might be a little bigger than usual this time, eh?

[Because he was insanely bigger in the spirit world and made sure to save loose feathers.]

Do come in! [Obligingly, the door opens seemingly of its own accord, revealing the much-much-larger-on-the-inside office and its percolating contents.]

[He gestures a spot on one table with a few of the older feathers still sitting on it.]

[Thatch ducks his head and eases into the doorway and then sort of looms beside it, looking around for a chair that could possibly hold his frame. Though he doesn't want to upset any of the brewing stuff]

Absolutely! I can compare these new feathers to your old ones. Study the difference. Figure out what the differences are. There could be any number of potential uses for it. Might do us all some good.

[Slughorn waves a hand dismissively.] Most of this is just replenishing the stocks. We went through quite a bit of our supplies during that battle. Never a dull moment, here. At my age you think they'd give me a chance to rest my weary bones...

[Not that he seems at all bothered by any aches or pains as he moves about his cauldrons, and really, if he was, that wouldn't speak very highly of his Potions prowess, would it?]

[Slughorn absently waves his wand at Namur, performing a Bubblehead Charm to encase his head in a globe of fresh clean air.]

Humans wouldn't be bothered by it. Most of these are for healing purpose after all. I suppose I'll have to modify the recipes for you. Wouldn't do to have any surprises pop up in the middle of the infirmary.

Yes, that's quite normal. Blasting Hexes and whatnot. Fairly high-level spells but not out of the question...

Nah professor, I'm telling you it wasn't like that. I've done a little magic because I had it last semester. This time...it was like the power was coming from the thingie and me like it was something I didn't need to learn about, you know?

You mustn't think real magic is anything like what you learn here. Paramagic's quite different. Perhaps you have a little more of a witch to you than you knew!

Potions, of course. Mostly for the infirmary. They exhausted their stock. Don't know how they seem to go through so many every time we get in a little scrape.

[He tsks, shaking his head as he drops a pinch of some unidentified black powder into a cauldron without really looking.]

They know what they know. [Slughorn shrugs dismissively.] But I intend to study what effects it had on you through magic. Much more interesting. Much more profitable perhaps.

[The shark nods, pokes gently at the bubble around his head to watch it wobble, and chuckles.]
