[The yellow fox seems to have gotten his bearings since his random visits to the Garden, and has taken to reading stuff in the Library in his spare time after having become a resident. When he's not in the library, he's figuring out where all the classrooms are since he's starting to take classes soon. It's easier to try and map things out in your head when you're there for more than a couple hours every day.

No matter where he is, he's easy to spot due to his rather bright yellowish-orange color. And very easy to get the attention of.]

[Hey, he knows that voice! Tails turns around to greet him.]

Hey, Knuckles! Did you get stuck here, too?

Yeah. Not that long ago.

[He has to fight it back, but he's grinning aside. Thank god, someone he likes.]

When did you get here?

Almost a week ago, technically. I kept coming back and forth here somehow, but they told me it had something to do with Time Compression. I'm gonna be looking into that... it sounds pretty weird.

Anyone else here that we know?

No. There's -- [How can he put this?] -- an Espio here, but he's not the one from our dimension. Other than him, I haven't seen anyone I recognize.

... Not the Espio from our dimension? Ah, I guess that makes sense! After all, we're not really in our dimension anymore, are we? We'd know for a fact if a place like this existed on our world.

That seems to be the case. At least the important things came with us.

[From it being Knuckles and looking relieved, it's pretty obvious what he means by "important things."]

You got the Master Emerald here too?

[stormofstones]

Yep.

[Knuckles withdraws the (shrunken) Emerald from his dreadlocks, holding it out for Tails to see.]

As long as it's with me, I don't have to worry. The Island will be fine in the water for a little while.

[In between hauling a few large and ominous books on weapons around, Maria takes the time to double-take. Sure, Garden is full of weird things and people. She'd even buy an anthropomorphic fox, no problem. It's the second tail that's throwing her off.]

[Man wait until you see what those things do.

Tails is used to people gawking at him for that, though. Six more years has definitely made it way less awkward. So Maria gets a smile and a wave.]

[That dispels the awkwardness. Once the nonhuman offworlders remind her they're people, that's enough to stop her from wondering.]

[But she flashes a grin to take any possible sting out of the words.]

You have got to be kidding. [ Is all Eugene says when he spots Tails by the library. Sure, the giant panda woman creature had thrown him off, but a walking fox with -- are those fingers? ]

Kidding about what? [What, these tails? Naw, they're just for flying. Oh, the fingers? Yeah okay you got that.]

[ Eugene rubs the back of his neck anxiously, letting out a sigh and walking forward. ] Now I've seen everything. Huh... [ He brings down his arm and folds his arms across his chest. ] It's nothing, kid. Are you a new cadet?

Hmm?

[Espio's attention is only caught by the fact the fox looks like he might be from his world - or at least, one similar. Eh. He glances back down to his book, and just talks at Tails, not going out of his way to get his attention.]

Getting a bit tired of people just dropping in and out.

[And you get a wave and a grin too, because he instantly... kind of recognizes you. Even if you aren't really looking at him right now.]

Hey! Espio, right? Knuckles told me you weren't the Espio from our world, though. So... what kind of world are you from, then?

[Hmm... Espio frowns a little. Straight to that kind of question, huh?]

[Figured out where your dorm is, Tails? Because he's got a roomie, who glances up from the table once he enters.]

Are you the new roommate? [Boy, that is not a happy question.]

[He doesn't have much stuff, so Tails really just comes in with nothing more than a simple bag to put in the room itself. He greets his new roomie.]

Yep! The name's Tails. Nice to meet you!

[He thumbs over his shoulder at one of the bedrooms, which, unlike the other, doesn't have a thin layer of dust starting to form over the furniture.] That room's mine; stay out of it. [I... I'm so sorry.

[Usually, he'd be curious about Tails's species, but he's gotten too used lately to having the room to himself.] You better not shed on everything.
