Is anyone good with mathematics? I'm in the remedial class and I still don't know if I'm getting it. It's a lot of information that I never had to learn before. I really would like to know if I am understanding it. - Kory
Also, no offense to the teachers, but I'm so bored in some of my classes.

[Shivers.]
I'm sorry. So where did you live before here?
no subject
I lived on a planet called Earth with my friends. They helped me get used to Earth.

Did it make adjusting to this place any easier you think? Since you've already had to adjust to one new world once?
no subject
I think it did. I've adjusted to so many new worlds before so this was nothing new.

More than one?

[At this last part, if he could see her, he'd see she pauses for a long moment]
Yes, when I was taken from my home, I was sold to different worlds.

Seems some things are universal. [Sorry it's so cryptic, Princess.]
Are you free now?
no subject
I am. My friends helped me escaped from them.

Good. My father always tried to stop slavery back in my world, but it's a long process when you're an outlaw, eh. Friends make all the difference.
no subject
It's a long process for anyone. The Citadel hires slavers and then they handle all the slaves who belong to the Citadel even though they are sold out on tenures. But my friends were able to fight them off and I've been with them since. I'm glad there were more people trying to stop it.

My Pops didn't think taking over the island would be as successful in protecting it as it was, but when he saw how it worked, he took on even more islands, eh.
no subject
Your father... he captured islands? [She's not quite getting the connection or how he can do that]
no subject
It's a little tricky I guess.
My father was close friends with the King of Fishman Island, King Neptune. When we came back through the island after Roger's death, a lot of pirates were kidnapping merfolk or fishmen and selling them as slaves to the World Government nobility.
Slavery is outlawed in every country in the world, but the tenryuubito, the World Government nobility are "above" that law and can do whatever they want. So the marines are forced to look the other way and the tenryuubito are allowed to own slaves of ex-pirates or anyone considered sub-human.
My father was the strongest man in the world. He declared Fishman Island under his protection and said if any pirate was going to interfere with that then they had to come challenge him personally. Hand Island, Samba Island, Foodvalten, we protected all those too under similar reasons.
After my old man's success with that, the other pirate emperors started doing that too. In the New World, the second half of the Grand Line, the World Government has a pretty flimsy hold. A lot the islands are too remote for them to reach, places like Wano Island were completely able to shut them out. But after Roger's death, the pirates all sail in that direction because they want to reach Raftel to find One Piece, Gol D. Roger's treasure at the end of the world.
And not all pirates are like my Pops.

[At least from that stand point that he was protecting people who would have been taken advantage of]

He was the strongest man in the world -- that part's not just foolish talk from a loving son, the whole world recognized him as such. So he had a lot of attempts on his head, so people could try to take his place, but it wasn't his goal to do anything extraordinary like that. All he ever wanted was to protect his family. He had the biggest heart of anyone I've ever even heard of, eh? That's why he was the best in my opinion.

But you wouldn't be able to back in my world. He died there.

He was here before?
no subject
For a little bit. He officiated my wedding here.
no subject
That must have been nice. Who is your wife?
