SECRET EVENT: The Gravity of the Situation
[Ding!]
Hey, what's this?
[Just as the elevator doors open on the first floor of Garden to admit the two awaiting it, the cadet inside holds up a box that looks, for all the world, like a cigar box. No sooner do his fingers touch the lid, though, then a noxious black smoke begins to creep out of the cracks...]
[Cafeteria]
[You might have thought today would be peaceful, but no such luck. From behind the counters, a pair of massive bats crash upwards and into the air, their shrieks just on the upper edge of human hearing and like nails on a chalkboard. Even as the air shimmers around then, they dive to the attack...]
[Dorms]
[Wait, isn't that dorm room uninhabited? Then what's banging at the door?]
[Answer: a pair of massive, red-and-black wolves that a second later smash through that door, saliva and froth dripping from their fangs and flames curling around their claws as smoke spills out around them to engulf their intended prey...]
[Classroom Hallway]
[A crash, a clatter, a thud, and a curious crunch presage the door to the magic classrooms buckling, then shooting inwards as if it has been sucked off its hinges by a massive vacuum cleaner. A moment later the source emerges -- a black sphere with no features, no reflectivity, no nothing but smooth perfection and a seeming absence of light. The closer it gets, the more dramatic the pull towards it, but that doesn't seem to affect the smoke that's boiling out the door to surround it...]
[Elevator]
Who disturbs my sleep?!
[No sign of Garden, no sign of the elevator, and the hapless cadet is clutched in the massive claws of the demonic red-black figure that has appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Contemptuously, Diablos discards his first heedless victim, then turns his attention to the other two with him...]
[OOC: Welcome to the secret event! Each location has been sealed off by the power of the GF Diablos, and its inhabitants have been cast into a black rocky plain in darkness... so, not your best day, then. Don't worry, when the monsters you face have been defeated, you'll be freed from your imprisonment, and might even have the chance to help others if need be! Your randomly-determined location assignments are in the comments, so go wild!]

As reluctant as he is to use GFs, he tries another strategy---drawing on those very spells from within his opponent. They won't be as powerful, but a little gravity magic could be just what he needs to buy himself time to whip up a finale.]

And it's not like he has parents to drill that stuff into him. That said, he wasn't prepared to stumble across... yeah, what the hell is that thing? And that figure beside it, somewhat harder to make out... so those wolves weren't the only surprise this place felt like shoving onto people today, huh?
For a second, he freezes in his tracks. Then he realises what a bad idea that is when you're wearing a bright red coat while surrounded by decidedly not bright red scenery, and ducks, ready to bring up a stone wall the instant anything comes his way. He's too stubborn to run, but honestly? In this kind of shape, if he tried to get the attention of whoever's fighting over there right now, he wouldn't be helping. Still, they might already have noticed him...]

Try attacking from the other side!
[It might be slightly hard to understand the blue thing shouting, of course, as it is trying to lower its shouting voice to avoid recognition. Billy jumps, bringing his lance down with a hard slice.]

[...something something other side. Okay, he can go with that. No point in hiding if he's already been spotted, right?
He claps once, presses his palms to the ground, making it spark and crackle with blue-white light - and the thick stone wall he had in mind, rather than shielding him, punches straight out of the rock underneath that monster.]

Oddly enough, though, it's almost dull compared to what he was bracing himself for. Maybe he's getting used to this. Or maybe every cell in his body already hurt so badly that there wasn't anything to add. He doesn't know. This isn't exactly his field, in more than one sense.
He drags himself back upright, propelled mostly by bloody-mindedness and adrenaline. Gotta focus. Okay, even if he's not running, some distance would be good... But he needs something to defend himself with too, otherwise this coat might as well be a bullseye. And hey, that other guy gave him an idea...
Another hand clap just before he stands back up, and this time he doesn't so much touch the ground as punch his right fist straight downwards. It's probably the only part of him that isn't swaying a few seconds later when he finally lurches to his feet - well, that and the submachine gun he just transmuted onto the end, which he points at one of the monster's wings.]
You... wanna try that again...? [Is he addressing Diablos or the guy fighting it? Doesn't matter. He can't muster all that much volume right now.]
no subject
Of course, she walked in a bit late to react to that Gravija. Ow. Figures that 90% of things she'd be hit with today had no chance of killing her.]
no subject
Come on!
[He might not be performing razzle-dazzle acrobatics again, but that doesn't mean he can't work his blades into a frenzy. He's pressing on.]
no subject
And hope nobody else happens to be in the way as he turns back towards the big guy, raises his hand again and opens fire.]
no subject
Too much sleep... too weak....
[And then it fades.]
[GF Diablos get.]
no subject
Is everyone all right?
no subject
He manages a slightly lopsided grin as he slowly pulls himself back up.] Still standing. That's good enough.
[...It doesn't look like that's going to hold true for much longer, though. With the immediate threat gone, he's again swaying rather alarmingly.]
no subject
[And almost late, but let's not think about that right now.]
no subject
So you've got a new Guardian Force, right? And---I'm glad. There should be more Cures if we need them.
[He nods to Grolla too. Less words might be better. Changing the pitch of his voice to avoid detection is exhausting.]
no subject
Whatever. What I want to know is how the hell we're supposed to get out of here. [He needs to go fetch another coat and jacket, for a start.]
no subject
no subject
I think that answers the question. So...I suppose you'd better report the new GF, right?
no subject
Well, what about you? Both of you. What're you gonna do?
no subject
[Got to be sure this is well and truly over with. No information can be spared being reported if it's relevant.]
no subject
[And Billy can escape and de-morph, but let's not talk about that.]
no subject
[And to do things as quickly as possible, it would be better to have a plan.]
no subject
due to something he hadn't been asking for, some asshole had given him detention for it.] Although I guess two of us can't hurt. It's a pretty big area. I'll... check on a few other places before reporting, then.[When the lift door finally opens, still on the ground floor, Ed trudges out, exuding quiet relief. But he stops a few steps away to glance back over his shoulder.]
Thanks for back there, anyway. ...For covering me, I mean. [Because, again, ego. His smile this time says a lot more than his words, though.]
no subject
[And off would run Billy, around the first floor and then out...a nice forest to change back, and then a long walk before wandering back. That should keep the suspicion off him.]
