Hey, any of you folks from other world bring your own GFs with you? Or things that shouldn't be GFs but are? I want to hear how they work for you.

Now, seeing this bronzed athlete in there instead of swimming or just hanging out is as unlikely a sight as Garden has ever seen, but weirder still, he's got a few books stacked up and is clearly attempting to puzzle his way through one. Jecht isn't stupid, mind, but no one can accuse him of being book-smart, and the dissertation on the effects of GFs he's attempting to read is just not his style.]

I actually haven't tried it myself, but it should be. After all, there are quite a few unicorns known to have had direct healing magic, and as a specialist in all magic I should be able to use it; I just haven't experimented with it.

[Not like he'd ever encountered stuff like that before he'd set out on his adventure with Braska and Auron. But they'd never have made it without it.]

I always kinda figured y'had one or the other. Magic for fixin' people up, or doctors 'cuz you didn't have magic.

Well, Garden has both as well, doesn't it? Furthermore, healing magic talents necessary to do more advanced procedures are uncommon enough in Equestria that medical institutions and methods of treating disease and injury without magic eventually rose out of necessity.

[Jecht's eyes glaze over a little once she starts getting into it, but he kind of catches the gist -- healing magic isn't just Cure, fixed, the way he's used to. (Of course, all he's used to is violence-begat injuries being fixed with magic.)]

Garden ain't quite like that. It's paramagic, not magic, so if ya run out of it, you gotta fall back on normal doctorin', or items.

Well it is still a supply problem, in a sense, so the principle is the same.

Easier t'get magic back, just rest for the night. Draw points take longer to come back.

That's true. There are probably a lot of factors that contribute to the discrepancy, not the least among them being the type of para-magic received...

I guess. Once I got to Spira and was gettin' into scrapes, I was travelin' with Braska. He healed us when we got hurt. Frankly that's about as much as I know about it all.

You didn't strike me as the type to worry about those kinds of things, so that answer doesn't surprise me.
