[A light purple unicorn is searching the shelves for anything interesting, careful to replace any book she doesn't keep with her back exactly where it was, all without even touching them. Instead, a magenta aura around the book(s) in question simply holds them in the air. There's a similar glow around the unicorn's horn, too.]

[Finals are about to start. Of course this guy's in the library. And of course there's a sparkly purple pony standing in the aisle, taking up enough space that he's not quite tall enough to lean over her and reach the shelf he wants.

[She notices the sound of steps from behind her and turns to face you.]

Oh! Hello. Were you looking for something specific, or...

You're in the way. [He indicates the shelf above her with a thumb.] And whatever you're doing to those books, cut it out. People in here might want to read them.

Oh, sorry. [She moves.]

And all I'm doing is moving them. It can be hard to turn pages with hooves.

[Once she's stepped aside, he... still can't reach high enough for the title he wanted. Or any of the books to either side of it. Dammit dammit dammit. But he'll carry on struggling for a few minutes anyway - without doing the obvious thing and asking for help, because the first step would be admitting he has a problem.]

[Unlike her unicorn counterpart, Rainbow Dash only enters libraries with a maximum of subtlety and stealth.]

[Maybe she DOES like reading just a little, but STUDYING is a different matter entirely. It's one thing to read awesome adventure stories about cool pegasus heroines, and a totally different thing to read about the fundamentally whosawhatsacallits of energies of junctions of blahblahblah seriously what? So, determined to not be caught studying, the pegasus creeps around one of the stacks...]

[Then gapes a moment before abandoning stealth and just hurling herself at the unicorn in a tackley sort of hug.]

[Oops, looks like there was a little too much tackle in that hug. Twi's concentration breaks, and the books go clattering to the floor as the two ponies.]

[Wouldn't be the first time Rainbow's antics have made a mess out of a library. Won't be the last. The pegasus doesn't care -- in fact, she's even forgotten to care about looking cool, because she's all but scooped up the unicorn to hug her.]

[Gakupo decided to keep up with his para-magic studies before his mission by taking out a few books and taking them to the training center. He walks by one of the aisles and spots a purple pony. Of course he stops in his tracks.]

Yeah, I come to the library just to check out a whole buncha books and check them in and pay the late fees! I keep forgetting the dates to return them!

Not really, no. I'm interested in learning as much as I can, and that means I can't discriminate, especially not when I'm dealing with a different world entirely.

Well then! [a thrilled clap of the hands, and the Doctor proceeds to bounce over to a random shelf.] Why not make a start with the ever important world history and world magic - sorry, did I say magic? I meant geography - world geography textbooks?

[Pulls a random book out. It has nothing to do with either history or geography. It's actually one of the bestiary textbooks. THERE IS NOTHING IN HERE ABOUT UNICORNS. He knows. He already checked.]

By the way, nice use of telekinesis. Makes up for the lack of, you know... [can't find the word, so he waggles his fingers for a moment] fingers? Grip? Opposable thumbs? No, wait, it's cats we don't want to have thumbs... I've met cats with thumbs. Didn't really like them very much, though the chap in the caravan was all right.

Actually, this looks like a bestiary, but it could still be useful.

Oh, it's nothing special, any unicorn could do this. It is quite useful, though!

Well, I expect it depends on the unicorn. Traditionally speaking, your average unicorn is just a symbol of purity and elusivity and... stuff. They're also supposed to have beards, cloven hooves and lion tails, which most people seem to have forgotten. Although...

[The unicorn he encountered a very long time ago was your average white horse with a horn version. Oh well. Have a shrug.]

And oohhhh... don't you worry about cats in caravans. You need to worry about these things.

[He flicks to a page on the subject of Mesmerize, and holds it out to Twilight.]

Now, these... pretty sure these are the closest thing you've got to unicorns around here. Not very pretty, really. Quite aggressive. 'course, they're monsters, from the moon. All monsters come from the moon, apparently, it's actually rather interesting.

Oh! And that reminds me! Your Geography, is over there, aaaand your History, now that's over there - actually, if you want to know where anything is, you can just ask me. I'm the librarian.
