[The usual morning routine is interrupted by a pony with way too much energy. No one who knows her would believe Rainbow Dash is up on time and with energy, but there she is, zooming around Garden excitedly with a rainbow trail left in her wake. She seems intent on exploring everywhere, peering into all the various rooms and areas; in fact, the only place you WON'T find her is in the elevator. Because seriously she can just fly to the second floor.]

[You may be fortunate enough to find a pony in your class, if you have one with her! She's sitting eagerly at her desk for the academic ones, and... for the sciencey ones like Engineering and Physics, looking just a little bit nervous under her smile. She spends a LOT of time checking her books and terminal, and looking worried when she thinks no one is looking.]

[During the free time after classes, Rainbow takes to the Quad to play with her pet, Tank -- who is distinctive not just for being a turtle, but a turtle with a magic-powered helicopter on his shell, so he can fly around with her.]

[Jack first notices Rainbow in his physics class. Her obvious worrying over the material amuses him, because he's a jerk. Then they have a tactics class together, and he wonders idly for a moment why she's blue (not why she's a pegasus, mind you--he just accepts most things about magical-type creatures).

He feels no real interest in interacting with her, however, until he sees her playing with Tank. Then, suddenly, the talking flying blue pony is of interest.]

How does the turtle control it? How does that work?

Oh, it's magic. My friend Twilight helped make it for him.

[Of course, the pegasus can stop in midair and hover to say this, just by flapping her wings, so it's not like it's anything WEIRD to her.]

Ah, magic. Of course. [He seems actually disappointed.] I guess wherever you're from, most stuff must run on magic; it'd explain why you looked so confused in physics, heh. Most stuff runs off of rules.

I don't see why I have to take all these stupid classes to be a pilot. [That she grumbles, a little disheartened.]

[Aaaaand now he looks horrified.] Um, because if you don't know how physics work, you'll crash and kill everyone? Most stuff in most places doesn't work off of magic.

I'm just saying it should be more practical! I mean, we studied in flight school, but this is all written way different than I ever learned it. All this math and stuff!

[It's hard not to notice the pony in Tactics, especially after Ed finishes reading the relevant chapter in the textbook - there's nothing much else in here to notice. He's remarkably unsurprised to be sitting in class behind a mythical creature (at least, he thinks it's remarkable), but not as much as he is curious. How does a flying pony even work? Wouldn't her skeleton either weigh her down too much to take off or just collapse underneath the rest of her?

Questions like those need to be asked with tact, obviously. So he leans over.] Uh... hi. So what's a horse doing in a military academy?

I'm a pony. And I'm learning to be a SeeD, duh. Apparently that's what you gotta do if you want the humans around here to not think you're a monster and try to kill you.

They usually DO. But they tell me people are scared of anyone who comes from a different world. And apparently ponies aren't supposed to talk or fly.

[623 has never met Rainbow Dash before, so he wouldn't be able to comment on the 'being up on time' thing about her, but that doesn't stop him from being absolutely confused at a flying pony that has a rainbow jet stream.]

How...? [as if his brain wasn't broken enough. How on earth does this work?]

Hi there! [Also the pony talks as she zips past. But she doesn't zip past far, since she does a loop to come around and stop in midair nearby. A moment later, the stream of rainbow catches up with her.]

[That probably didn't help matters, did it.]

[Not really no. He does try to poke the rainbow to see if it was a banner or something attached to her.]

[Just gonna continue on her way to the quad, a basket full of cupcakes balanced on her head.]

[3... 2... 1... and the sheer nonsense of what just happened hits her. She turns sharply to look, hits a railing, and in a dramatic spiral of limbs, arcs straight into the pools of water in the lobby.]

[She hops out of the water, drags herself up onto the walkway, and stares.]

Pinkie... you've... gone native...

[Rarity's just trotting down the corridor, making her way to the Quad after a long day making cadet uniforms, when she spies Rainbow flying overhead. After a moment of nearly squeeing giddily at seeing one of her friends, she composes herself and calls out.]

Rainbow Dash? Could you be a dear and come down for a moment?

[Pure delight on the pegasus's part! She drops down to a slow trot, all but grabbing the unicorn for a hug, and never mind if she's mussing the mane!]

I haven't seen anypony else since I ended up in this place! Of course I'm surprised! I was starting to think I was the only pony here!
