[In the quad, Aladdin is peering quizzically at the translation necklace. On his shoulder his pet monkey Abu looks at it with him, making a disinterested noise.

Chances are most people won't be looking at the young man or the monkey though. That persian rug which is floating in the air beside him and somehow managing to look curious is much more attention-grabbing, after all.

Aladdin hasn't put on the device yet, so when he speaks it's in Arabic, not English]

So what do you think, Abu?

[Abu natter's away in a tone that suggests he doesn't think much of the device. Aladdin grins and shrugs in response]

Hey, as long as it works. [He puts it on and spreads his arms, facing Carpet. Suddenly, his next words come out in English] How do I look?

[Neither Abu nor Carpet understands English, but they seem to guess what Aladdin means. In response, Abu huffs his disapproval - but Carpet seems like like it, giving Aladdin a cheerful salute with one of its tassels]

Hey, I understood you that time! [so this thing does work after all..]

[that Carpet's going to give Ezio a look now too. Carpet will look at whatever it wants to!] He's a magic carpet. [Carpet takes off, flying around Aladdin in a circle. Yup, definitely a magic carpet.]

[ He is staring at the carpet now. It's looking at him. Oh shit it is looking at him. Okay now its flying. Phew. That was weird.]

Well that is diffidently not the più strano thing I have seen.

[Carpet glide back in front of Ezio, two of it's tassels resting on the ground as if it were 'standing'. It seems to be looking at him with curiosity this time]

I'm Aladdin! [holding out a hand] This is Abu - [the monkey makes a noise that sounds strangely like 'hello'] - and I guess you've already met Carpet. [the rug waves a tassel]

Sì.. [Dio..it is staring again.] How is Garden treating you so far, il mio amico? I am right in saying you just arrived?


[ Recognizes the translator necklace and chuckles.

I hated that necklace thing. when I first arrived , mine would glitch and make me speak gibberish until it fixed itself. It is better to take a class to learn their language.

Yeah, we just got here. Seems like a nice place, so far.

[Aladdin looks down at the necklace] So this doesn't always work, huh? I'm just glad it works at all. But it can't be that hard to learn their language, right?

Bene , il mio amico. You seem to be handling yourself well.

It is difficult if you have no foundation in it. I learned the basics of a few languages when I was younger , so it was easy.

[ And even still , he finds himself going back and forth from Italian to English.]

Hey, it's not like I've got much else to do while I'm here. I might as well pick up a few things. [although since he's never been to school before, Aladdin doesn't actually have a clue what he's in for]

Agrabah? Hot, full of sand, and it can be a rough place to live...but it's home.
