Third Red / [BBS]

[BBS]

Is there any fucking point in getting attached to people in this place if they are going to leave sooner or latter? I'm not complaining or anything. Just wondering why do we keep on doing it.

I guess it'd be kind of difficult, living in this place without contact from anybody. Specially if you teach. I mean, I am not a robot. But sometimes I wonder if it'd be easier to go around like that.

Anyway, this pointless rant has been brought to you by one Jason Peter Todd.

Jay Out.

[BBS, Private to Tom Bronson]

Drinks tonight?

It's on me.

- Instructor Jason Todd.

Yeah, if you're into jailbait. [He snorts, taking a seat on one of the barstools and ordering a round of beer.] But fine, fine, I'm the bad guy for thinking you couldn't ever take on your very own sidekick.

... [He bites his lip.]

But if you have one, that means you've got way more experience in the field than me.
werepanther: ([tom] is that so?)

Guess not.

[It's not obvious, but Jason can easily tell that knowledge bothers Tom.] It just feels like forever since back home... kind of weird to be thinking about it now. [He takes a sip.]

But go figure, TC wants to be a hardass this time of year.

[He effortlessly slides over a pack and a lighter.] The better question would be, when would I not have one?

But... yeah, I get you. Hasn't happened to me yet but then again, I've been the only JSA person here since this whole Compression nonsense started.

[Aw yeah more beer! Tom grins, happily finishing his own mug.]

I'd still trade families with you. Though I'm not sure if you'd really want Pops as a dad.
werepanther: ([pb] oh really now?)

[Immediately downing the rest of his beer.]

Pops didn't know I existed. Kind of hard to compare me to a non-existent kid---and really, comparing you to Dick?

Wasn't he the genius who believed that you removed the word gullible from the dictionary?

You sure? I'm half-wondering if all those acrobatics didn't get to him.

[He's teasing, but it's half-genuine. Tom doesn't know just how Dick managed to graduate and teach.]

I'll keep that in mind.

[There's a moment of silence before Tom stares down at his hands, as if expecting them to transform:] Speaking of idiots... some Cadet almost shot me last week. You'd think I'd be used to it by now.
werepanther: ([pb] oh really now?)

Oh, yeah. [He grins, flexing his arm muscles.] By now, it's almost routine.

[... it really SHOULDN'T be, Tommy.] Most of 'em still haven't seen a werepanther before Garden.
werepanther: ([pb] completely amused)

[personal profile] werepanther 2011-12-09 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Not if they think I'm one of the monsters. [By now, he's more amused than insulted.

Still, he's kind of glad this is distracting Jay, so...]
You should've seen your kid brother. [He actually means Razem, not that he knows the difference when they're in costume.] He practically tried to behead me.
