Is there any fucking point in getting attached to people in this place if they are going to leave sooner or latter? I'm not complaining or anything. Just wondering why do we keep on doing it.

I guess it'd be kind of difficult, living in this place without contact from anybody. Specially if you teach. I mean, I am not a robot. But sometimes I wonder if it'd be easier to go around like that.

What's worse is that I could have went on with my life without knowing about her.

I came from an earlier point in my life or whatever. So just- this whole- shit... arg [He growls and runs a hand though his hair] Tell me you have a cigarette around.

[He effortlessly slides over a pack and a lighter.] The better question would be, when would I not have one?

But... yeah, I get you. Hasn't happened to me yet but then again, I've been the only JSA person here since this whole Compression nonsense started.

[He reaches for the cigarette and slides his own beer to Tom so he can finish it, ordering another.] I'm okay with that.

[Aw yeah more beer! Tom grins, happily finishing his own mug.]

I'd still trade families with you. Though I'm not sure if you'd really want Pops as a dad.

[He snorts]

I dunno, did 'Pops' ever spend all your childhood reminding you about how better your big bro was in every single little thing?

[Immediately downing the rest of his beer.]

Pops didn't know I existed. Kind of hard to compare me to a non-existent kid---and really, comparing you to Dick?

Wasn't he the genius who believed that you removed the word gullible from the dictionary?

[He almost chokes with his own beer laughing]

I'd be lying if I said I had, myself. Still, shooting you seems a little... extreme.
