SeeD Exam [Wednesday Morning, Front Gate]

[The SeeDs and those potential candidates who believed themselves qualified to graduate are given no particularly special warning or advisement. They had received their orders during the Monday morning announcement, and had had two days to prepare, ask questions, gather advice, or do whatsoever they needed to.]

[Now was the time to prove they had the discipline, strength, and capability that Balamb Garden required.]

It hasn't even started; I'd hardly call it optimism just yet. Besides, [ she turns her reassuring smile on Gakupo and Marco. ] Their skills and work have brought them this far. A little faith isn't uncalled for.

[ Erik turns around at the sound of the voice before considering his response. He could tell there were a few others listening by, and as such phrased his words carefully. ]

More often than not, I suppose. [ He narrows his eyes for a moment before continuing. ] Though that doesn't mean I expect you to slack off.

[Because Rinoa is so great for being the bearer of not so great news.]

I think there was a pretty big group in Squall's SeeD exam and only four of the cadets managed to graduate.

[Being from the world had it's advantages, of course she wasn't there so she can't exactly be sure how many people there were in that SeeD exam. Convenient.]

[Because Rinoa apparently likes being the bearer of bad news? not really, in this case it's just her brain to mouth filter being awkward.]

I'm not really sure. Maybe you just retake classes that you need to work on more or extra electives that interest you? I've never thought to ask.
