[If anyone had visited the infirmary these past few weeks, they might've seen a little lifeless kid lying there in one of the beds. Supposedly, right after finals, he'd fallen into a deep sleep and refused to wake up.

Until now. Suddenly gasping for air, Damian immediately sits upright. He's... he's... in the infirmary? He furrows his brows and glances around the room for any clues. The last thing he remembered, he'd been taking finals... and then...

Then he'd been whisked back home. How long had it been? Six months? Twelve?

Slag, Time Compression really hated him. Why else would it drag him back into Garden after experiencing all that? After meeting Green Arrow and Zachary Zatara and that weird Jewish kid who claimed he was Kryptonian... in the context of Garden, it really didn't make much sense. He leans forward, arching his back and trying his best to suppress a sigh as he stares down at his clothes. Dammit, TC! If it's going to whisk him back, at least whisk him back with clothes that actually fit.]

... Here again? Guess I haven't had enough yet.

[A few hours later, there's a brief post on the BBS system:]

Does anyone have the latest issue of that sky pirate comic?? I wanted to buy one over the break, but it sold out before I could. :| That and the one about steampunk mechanics. They're both pretty schway.

Also I think I might need to go shopping. I don't really want to, but nothing really fits. Not even my uniform. 8( So what the slag'm I supposed to buy?

[Shrug.] Figured a warning'd cause him to stop being a zift. 'Specially since he was going around and making Aang feel bad without realizing it.

[... It was pretty much misplaced concern for Aang. Not that he'll openly admit it.]

...You threatened Zuko because of Katara?

... That's the girl Zuko's dating, right? [Headtilt.] No, not really. I could care less about her.

She's the only reason Zuko'd be making Aang feel lousy. Aang's got the biggest crush on her. It's kinda sad, actually.

Tell me about it. [He snorts. Wait, were they... actually... agreeing on something?] When they started dating, Aang refused to leave my room. It was like he was a recluse or something.

He's a total wuss. [Toph shrugs] But is that why you threatened Zuko? Because Aang was being a baby over Katara?

[His sudden silence is pretty much all the answer Toph needs.]

[That gets a (soft) punch from Toph]

Why didn't you say that earlier!?

[He huffs, rubbing the spot where she punched him.] I thought it was obvious!

Obviously not. [Toph rolls her eyes] Why the heck would do that? I get that Aang's apparently your friend, but really, what's threatening Zuko gonna do?

[GOOD QUESTION.] I don't know... make Aang feel better?

[Clearly he didn't think that one through.]

...You're not too bright, are you?

[Welp, that was slightly uncalled for.] What? I didn't really think there needed to be more than that! Zuko'd think of Aang's feelings, Aang'd be happy, and it'd all be fine!

You didn't think at all, Blockhead. Listen, if Zuko broke it off with Katara, that'd just make everything worse. Aang'd feel bad for causing them to separate, Zuko'd be miserable because Aang's upset and he's not with Katara, and Katara'd be upset because that'd be at least the second guy who ended up hurting her. Maybe third, the jury's still out on Haru. I know my friends a lot better than people give me credit for, trust me here.

[Well, now he just feels really, really dumb.]

... So what's it gonna take to get you to get off my back about this?

As soon as you're better, I'm dragging you someplace with a lot of earth, and I'm going to beat the snot out of you unless you beat it out of me first.

I'm Aang's Earthbending teacher. [Smug] Don't worry, I'll try not to put you in the infirmary again.

Works for me. I like fried rice and wheat noodles.

Got it. [offers his hand for a handshake] Does two days from now sound good?

I'd say tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure Aang'll be hovering for a while.

If you think you'll be up for it then, sure.

[handshake]

Aang'll be hovering until you tell him to buzz off.

Which will probably be never. [shakes his head] Turns out we're roommates.

[He's trying SO HARD not to grin about this. Really!]
