[ACTION]
[ Cloud had decided to get up early and spend a few hours with his blades, making sure that they were in shape after the whole 'sucked into another world' thing. Once cleaned, sharpened, and polished he took the Fusion Swords outside of the Garden for practice. Sure he could have gone to the Training Center, but he had found the ceiling was just a little too close for comfort, especially when he jumped. He needed space and he needed to work off all the tension of ended up in this strange place, where even the air tasted different than what he knew.
So there he was in the field, the First Ken in hand while the five other swords formed a circle around him, going through the very simple step-slash-block-return moves of a basic kata. The air was fresh and cool, feeling good against his bare arms, and he could taste the nearby sea when the wind blew off of it. He closed his eyes, letting his feet and arms carry him around the circle.
So absorbed in his practice, he really wouldn't notice anything around him, even if it was a Sephiroth appearing in a pink apron talking about peace and harmony. ]

Sometimes. [ And with that he turns and picks up the jagged sword and snaps it into place on one side of the First Ken. Next was the hollow blade, fitting easily on the front of the sword. ]
And sometimes I put it all together.

[He watches curiously, if without much professional interest; this is so far out of his style than it might as well be black magic.]
I wonder if it's more effective to throw them all combined or one at a time.

At least, it's not that heavy to me. I wouldn't know about throwing them. I tend to fight up close and personal.

Let's see it.

[Hmm, let's see. A target. Had to be something large and sturdy enough to blunt the impact so the sword doesn't go flying off into the distance... and there is nothing like that around. Splendid.]
[Edge lifts his free hand, makes a series of complicated finger motions, then gestures sharply with a slash of his hand. Beneath them the ground shakes, as a few dozen feet away, a wave of earth erupts upward, splitting apart to reveal a stone core at its heart.]
[No sooner does it appear then Edge hurls the sword at it almost casually. The weapon spins blindingly around its balance as it whirls through the air, then slams point-first into the stone. Shards and shrapnel burst outward as the massive rock shatters into so much dust, crumbling to the ground.]

Nodding at the display, he walked over to the sword, picking it easily up and swinging it to get the dust off. He was going to need to clean it again, but the nice thing about the materials his swords were made of was that they were made to break down walls. ]
Nice.

That thing does have some serious power. You got it made personally for yourself?

[It had to be a term that made sense on his world, but then again, if these swords made sense on his world, who the heck knows what else would?!]

[Only the dwarven kingdoms had tanks back on his world, and they had proven fully capable of styming the Giant of Bab-il along with the airships. So he's going to assume this is pureest metaphor.]
So 'hit them so hard they don't get up again' sort of weapon.

It also doesn't hurt that the interlocking blades can be dissembled with little to no effort in a hurry, giving me extra weapons in a tight spot.

You'd be surprised.

Well, I did go through a lot of weapons in my time, but that was all throwing! I couldn't use most of them normally anyway.
no subject
I can't imagine throwing a weapon away. [ Scratches the back of his head and shrugs. ] It goes against everything I've been told.

And I had that argument a couple of times with some of the more conservative, non-ninja friends I was with. Sure, it seems crazy to hurl the legendary Excalibur, forged of rarest Adamant by the world's greatest blacksmith, at your enemy. But if the paladin's already using the even-more-legendary-and-amazing crystal weapon, and the enemy in question is the world-ending incarnation of Hatred who is constantly hitting you with really powerful attacks that your white mage is struggling to keep you alive through, then it starts seeming like a much better choice.

It makes sense. It's not something I would do, but it still makes sense.

[Not a mean thing to say, or at least not intended as one, but it isn't necessarily a compliment.]

[Seriously, what name had he just said?]
