[Zephyr gives Kiden a "...isn't it obvious?" look and then shrugs his shoulders.]

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had fancy-schmancy filtering systems. So if you have the tech to build this thing and do that, you can't even control the weather?

[Zephyr gets this mildly irritated look on his face. It's not really directed at Kiden, but more of a... general "Why do I have to give a history lesson?" sort of expression from someone who... honestly doesn't care much for it.]

They built this thing ages ago. I'm gonna guess they had more shit going for 'em back then, but it's been so long... [He rubs the back of his neck, a slight frown curling his lips.] Shit breaks down, and seeing as we're stuck living on a goddamn tower now, we don't have what we need to keep the tech up and running or somethin'.

[The hand on his neck then moves to make a vague gesture in the air.]

So when Basel starts wearing down, people start lookin' for other ways of stayin' alive. On a more... personal level, kinda.

[And with that, he falls silent rather abruptly and continues to walk in silence, arms swinging loosely by his sides.]

[ She sees his frown and becomes quiet for a moment. Kiden's not always good at being socially sensitive, but even she can't miss a cue like that. After a moment, she leans over and bumps his shoulder with her own. ]

[He glances over at her and snorts quietly.]

[Again, another sort of, but she's not pressing the issue, which is a good thing in his books.]

[ A shrug. ] Just curious.

[If Zephyr were an ordinary individual, he probably would've invited Kiden to ask questions, but as he's not, he sets up some diversionary tactics instead.]

You forgot the part about porn. [He glances over at her.] That reminds me--are a lotta chicks going to this party? I can't say I'm gonna be too happy if it ends up being a sausage fest.
