The Saddest Reaper EVER.
[Sitting in an isolated place in the Garden, somewhere away from just about everyone, is Grell beneath a tree. She's holding a stuffed animal in her hands, looking at it. Knowing who gave it to her. Who is no longer here.
Never has Grell looked so...lost. She sighs and leans back against a tree, hugging the plush toy close.]
...is it even worth making connections anymore?

What sorta question is that? [He wanders over, plopping down onto the ground near where Grell is sitting.]
Everyone leaves our lives sometimes, it's just how it works. That doesn't mean we should stay isolated forever though. Just means we should make the most of the time we get with people. Live life to the fullest, like each day is your last, and all that mushy crap.

The code I live by, actually. [Looks down at the plush toy.] I must be getting WEAK if I can't do such. [SIGHS in frustration. She...shouldn't get so worked up over this.]

Same. Otherwise I'd just be some bitter emo kid who never talked to anybody. Like a few of the guys I know.
So who is it? The person you're missing? Someone special right? Don't know much about you or whoever it is, but I figure if you want to talk about it, it won't hurt for me to listen. Sometimes things get easier if you talk about them.

For a few moments, she stares at Duo. It's creepy how she does it. Over the rim of her glasses, as if reading his cinematic record. Why were humans nosy? Perhaps it's their curiosity to life and how SHORT their lifespan is.
The poor souls. They are just asking to be put out of their misery.
She turns away, looking to her plush toy. A soft shrug is given before she speaks.]
My son is no longer here.

Course it is. Sure, they're tough but yeah. What happened?
[ Upside down headtilt. ]

Sobers and relaxes in her spot.]
...my son is gone.

Emo doesn't suit you, Juliet. What's up?
[ Flopping down next to her, cigarette between her lips. ]

Neither do cigarettes. [Hums softly, idly petting the plush doll.] Everything, and possibly nothing at the same time.

Sounds dramatic. Did someone die?
[ She has a way with words. ]

It seems this Time Compression chose my son to ship home.

...I'm starting to have my doubts. [Leans in closer] Perhaps it's a folly best left for mortals.

There hasn't been a lot of good. Simply times of enjoyment. [There is a light snicker at the latter part of his statement.] Time is ABUNDANT. If I could sell it, it would.

[Of course Snow has to interject himself, to defend the whole principle of human connection. He wouldn't be himself otherwise.]

Not a surprising response from you, Instructor.

[He plants his back against the tree and slides down to a seat. Save her some neck strain.]
With a question like that, I bet you just lost someone you cared about.

But seeing a classmate (because he couldn't forget someone with that red of hair) looking down, he went over casually.]
Grell, right? You're in my photography class. Are you okay?
no subject
Have you come to take a picture~? [ADJUSTS GLASSES] I'm afraid this is not an opportune time, as I'm feeling less than photogenic.
no subject
I was just wondering if you're okay. You seem down.
