[One may or may not notice a dark figure standing under a tree, watching other mill about to their classes. The population of cadets have nearly doubled, and the percentage of SeeD and instructors has also grown at a rate he hasn't seen in a while. Shadow's reappearance will certainly cause a stir.

[And here is his usual tag-along, peering over his shoulder to see what he's looking at.]

[Doesn't even flinch at her magical appearance.]

This newsletter. [Shifts the paper so she could read, too.]

[Maria reads over it, her expression understandably changing to worried.]

[Nods.] Less than thirty five exclamation marks.

And that gets laughter. NOW she gets it.]

[Suuure it is.

Maria takes another look at it, however, the smile fading. She's clearly worried about it.]

Hopefully we won't have to worry about going to war.

I hope not.

[It seems like all of these events are just snowballing right before their eyes. Shadow knew it would only be a matter of time before the peace talks fell through. He closed the newsletter and looked to Maria.]

I think the most you should worry about is your health. [Pauses, looking a bit serious and concerned.] Does Dr. Kadowaki know about your condition?

Yes, she does. I've been taking the medication regularly, I promise.

[He just nods softly] Maybe they could finish what Gerald couldn't...

I feel better already.

[Smile! It's clear she's not just saying that -- though most people wouldn't be able to tell, after living with her for so long, Shadow should be able to see that she does look somewhat more healthy.]

[He does notice, just not saying anything outright.]

The medicine here is different, and maybe more advanced than what we had.

And the magic, too.

[She giggles.]

It seems so exciting!

Exciting is one word to use. It takes some getting used to.

[He sees it more like her being able to protect herself if he isn't there.]
