[If you go down to the training centre today, you'll find one Frimelda Lotice fighting some of the monsters. It's clear that this is completely effortless for her, as even the T-Rexaurs are taken down with relative ease - she's not called a Blademaster for no reason, after all.

She has her reasons for being here. The first is a touch of nostalgia for her days as a cadet - a guilty pleasure for one who would typically prefer to keep moving forward. The second is to observe any WTR 101 students and, as their instructor, offer them her aid and advice. The third, to observe any other cadets as they do battle.

So, though she is silent as she fights with her two heavy knightswords, she remains alert, observing the field in the hopes of spying an appropriate cadet.]

[Bad news, Frimelda; you attracted the wrong kind of attention!]

Instructor.

[That's a hello from one highly obvious ninja walking down the path. He pauses, though, at the sight of her weapons.]

[]

Greetings. Are you well?

Better than I was a few minutes ago.

[Yes, he sounds a bit sly about that, smiling under the mask.]

Those are... a lot heavier weapons than I ever think I've seen anyone dual-wield. Would you mind letting me...?

Do you find the air of combat invigorating?

[]

You may.

[]

But do take care. They are precious.

I do. And I understand, believe me.

[He accepts one, hefting it with a lowering of his eyebrows. He describes a few careful motions with it, then reverses it in his grip to offer it back.]

That is impressive.

I dedicated much of my life to the way of the sword. I am... [] somewhat renowned for it throughout Jylland.

That's the sort of blade that Cecil would use, except I can't imagine him using two.

[There's a moment of fond reminiscence he's triggered for himself.]

With luck I'll see him again so I can tell him he was outdone!

A single blade can be highly effective. To use two is simply a preference of mine - I wouldn't say I have your friend outdone.

Maybe I'm just a bit biased.

[By way of demonstration he draws his two blades, spins them lightly in his palm, then grips them again -- underhand grips. No heavy knight swords these; moonlight and shadow given form, light enough to cut air.]

Ah yes. I see. [] I should have anticipated as such - your clothing is similar to that of a ninja.

Lucky thing, since I happen to be a ninja!

So, might I ask what a skilled ninja SeeD is doing here in the Training Centre this evening?

Until a few minutes ago, training. Now, enjoying the company of a lovely lady!

Against such weak enemies as Grats?

[Edge is terrible at subtle. Don't expect him to notice neon signs that say NO FLIRTING. Luckily, he can be distracted!]

The T-Rexaurs aren't terrible enemies. Still, I fight what's here.

Perhaps, then, you would aid me in assisting any cadets who should need it? Should you have spare time, of course.

It'd be my pleasure.

[And there's a bow, but that's courtly manners, not haygurlhay.]

Though I must admit, from what I've seen the cadets are quite impressive.

That they are. However, as the Introduction to Weapons instructor, the chance for me to observe and offer even the slightest aid is valuable to them and to myself.

[Oh yes she may. Introducing himself is one of his favorite things in the world. He half-turns away, snapping his cape out dramatically.]

Edge, SeeD, King of Eblan, and heir to the Eblan ninja clan.

An impressive title. I am merely Frimelda Lotice. Were I to introduce myself as though from my homeland, I would say I was of Clan Gully.

[He bows quite grandly, with another snap of the cape.]

You teach basics of all weapon forms, then, as part of the class?

[]

Though I specialise in blades, I have sufficient knowledge of other weaponry. In addition, I am also the instructor for Survival Skills.

Where do thrown weapons fall under the classifications, here? Projectile?

[He'd been wondering that for some time!]

A SeeD, and yet you don't know? They are considered projectile.

That's what I thought. [He shrugs.] It never came up. I already knew my weapons before I came here, after all.

I see... what was your specialisation, if I may ask?

Bladed Weapon specialist. I'd considered Covert Ops as appropriate, but ninjutsu and the SeeD program were too far apart to reconcile.

Oh, then I am surprised we had not before met. I also participated in Bladed Weapons classes. We must have had conflicting schedules.

Must have been on opposite class days. But I didn't have much I needed to learn, either.

[And he shamelessly shows off by drawing his swords, spinning them around his body in a complicated pair of passes, then snapping them back into the sheaths. All this with an air of casualness.]

[And he's totally watching her without trying to be obvious about it. She's totally impressed, right?]

[Mikuru is frustrated.

[As much as she'd think it would be easier to hold and aim just one pistol instead of two, something about only having one is throwing her balance off.

[She is also in civilian gear. Frimelda may have noticed in her first week of teaching that Mikuru shot much better on the day she came to class in a pink battle maid costume.

[Her knees wobble as she aims at a Grat and fires. At least she makes the shot.]

Cadet Mikuru, you seem to be having difficulties today. Did you misplace your second pistol?

No, I lent it to someone who wanted to try out using a gun again after the introductory class.

[She frowns.] I thought one was supposed to be easier than two.

If you are familiar with two, adapting to the change may be difficult. However, it's important to remember that on a battlefield, you may lose one of your weapons, or it may become more practical to use only one.

You seem to be putting a great deal of effort in. I'm sure you will master it in time.

Thanks. [She smiles, thinly; she isn't so sure she'll come to master this, but she definitely appreciates the compliment.]

When would one gun be more practical than two...?

[Remember that cadet who seemed to be epically flunking your class, Frimelda? He's here, in a secluded corner by himself, though... he's actually defeating all these monsters with twin daggers effortlessly.

If it weren't for the fact that it is the same kid (he's not even in costume, just civilian gear), it might've actually needed a double-take. As it is, he's not breaking a sweat. Nor does he notice her. One more twirl and--well, there goes those three Grats.]

Is it the classroom environment that gives you so much trouble, Cadet Razem? You seem to be handling yourself fine against monsters.

[Busted. He grimaces for a moment, clearly debating something--before clumsily putting his daggers back into his sheaths.] Iiii... yeah. Something like that.
