valentine's day dance!
[Night has fallen on Balamb Garden; the halls of Garden are mostly deserted besides the stray student walking about, and even the usual faculty members are missing from their posts around the school. There's a certain festive energy through the air, the source coming from the Ballroom cheerily decorated located on the second floor.
At exactly 2100, as soon as the dinner rush ends, the Garden chime sounds and the intercom clicks on. The Headmaster speaks to the Garden.]
The Valentine's Day dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom.
I repeat, the Valentine's Day dance is now beginning. Your attendance is requested at [2F] Ballroom. The dance will run until 2400. Students leaving the ball after curfew are to return to their dorms immediately.
The dance and its festivities tonight are being sponsored very generously by the Garden Festival Committee.
[After the announcement, the intercom falls silent. The faint sound of music can be heard from the second floor of the building.]
( Mod note: You may participate in the dance in comments to this post, or opt to make your own new post/log.
The dance isn't mandatory, so students that choose not to attend won't be punished. The Headmaster, Garden faculty and even some of the instructors are all present at the dance, so troublemakers are free to roam until 2400. The dance itself will last from 2100-2400 in the second floor ballroom and the music will be the same kind of upbeat peppy orchestrated pieces that the game used. Caterers will roam offering drinks and refreshments to attendants, as well a stationary stand for punch and food is offered.
Should players have any questions left unanswered feel free to ping the mods on AIM or via PM. )

I haven't seen you around lately, classes keeping you busy Minato?

I know what you mean. It seems the closer we get to the SeeD examine, the harder everything seems to get!
no subject
[He approaches her.]
Speaking of which, have you thought about getting a GF for the application exam?
no subject
[The look she gives him then is slightly apologetic as she taps her forehead twice.]
I've already got a GF, Minato. I have for over twenty years now if you want to be technical about it.
no subject
Oh, right. You knew the Commander back then, right? I guess you've had one since then.
no subject
That's right. I guess you could say I've had it easy, I learned all about para-magic and junctioning before I even got here.
no subject
Still, para-magic and junctioning isn't that hard once you get a feel for it, is it?
no subject
I've got a friend who doesn't like para-magic very much, she'd rather just fight without it.
no subject
Really? Is she someone who prefers using melee or weapons? I'm fine with para-magic, but then, it's similar to the spell system in my home world.
no subject
I don't think Bulla's much for weapons either, just melee.
[She tilts her head a little, curious now.]
Similar? I don't think I've really heard you say anything much about your world before. What's it like?
no subject
Ah, well, my world for the most part believes magic is just the stuff of old tales - it's more technological than anything. Of course, most of the people from my world that ended up here know magic still exist in a sense. And I said it's similar because it also involves calling the power of great spirits into your mind to cast spells - I can show you later, if you want.

[Why she'd never thought to ask Mitsuru for specifics, she'd never know. She had learned at least a little bit about Persona from her old roommate though.]
Oh, that's right! Like how Mitsuru called on Artemisia for blizzard-like attacks?
no subject
[He nods.]
Yeah, like that. Most people I know can only use one Persona like Mitsuru, but they grow and changed along with the user, so it evens out.
no subject
[She smiles.]
I think that sounds pretty neat. Like a Guardian Force, but more personalized somehow and meant just for you.
