[Okay, so this wasn't so bad. I mean, after fighting off the inner demons that plagued your older brother and the bastard dictator that was ruling the world up until recently -

...never mind, not thinking about that. ANYWAY.

Being in school wouldn't be that bad, never mind the fact that he hadn't been back in school for a few years, and this place specialized in fighting. Being a soldier back home, well, he supposed he'd do just fine anyway. Anything to eventually come home, at least.

So! Our intrepid hero is now sitting out on the quad, stretched out lazily, and... oddly content, despite the situation. Poke/throw things/yell at?]

[After going through the lesson plans for a few days, the enigmatic sorcerer was certain he was up for the task of teaching youngsters dangerous magic. Or rather he certainly hoped he was up for such a task. Albert wasn't exactly the most patient man in the known universe, but he doubted he would be a terrible professor.

Musing to himself about his new line of work, the dapper gentleman came to a halt once he noticed an intrepid young man nearby. The boy looked like a lazy little sod, definitely not the model student to become a SeeD cadet.]

[Derp. Mid-yawn, he stops, sitting up and blinking a bit. Hey, he was one of the heroes of the rebellion back home, he's definitely not lazy. Just... enjoying the nice day. 8|;;;]

Shame? You wound me, sir. [And to add to the comedic effect, he places a hand at his heart, wincing in mock-pain.] Just enjoying the sunshine, y'know?

[Not in Albert's humble opinion. This scraggly youth looks like a slacker, much like the rude young hero he had to deal with prior to his arrival here.]

I just got here recently, actually... haven't had much to actually study for. [That and most of his choices in classes are either things that he knows offhand or something he wants to learn.]

[Well, that was close. Something seemed a bit off, mostly the fact that his demeanor had changed so quickly after realizing he was new. But now wasn't the time to worry about it. Besides... he could afford to hold back on worrying - at least he thinks so.]

Yeah, I am. Subaru Kirishima, sir. [Old habits die hard... still used to using formalities to known superiors. Jess would be proud. Or worried.]

[He doesn't say anything about the whistling, even though it does get his attention. Subaru lifts his head, only to give a small smirk. Nothing out of the ordinary, but he is curious. He does, however, give as mere/ wave to the other man, grinning a bit.<\i>]

Join the club, this is my first time in a school period. I grew up near a farming community with my brothers, so we couldn't really go to school.
