[Most of Rinoa's classes weren't so bad. Most of them her time traveling with SeeD had prepared her for and the others seem to just need a bunch of studying. Thankfully she didn't mind pouring over books so that wasn't too big of a hardship. There was though one class that continued to be a struggle to adjust to, but it was the one she was currently the most determined to pass.]

Alright. Just like in class. I can do this.

[Eying the sword she holds in her hands with an exasperated look, Rinoa straightens her shoulders before looking around the training center rather reluctantly. It was probably pretty telling just how her skill level was if the teacher had agreed that getting some practice outside of class was probably for the best.

Still, she was more determined than ever to figure out just how to properly use a sword and then a gunblade. Little details like the fact that she just didn't seem to have the ability naturally wasn't 't going to stand in her way.

Spying a Grat some distance away, she lets out the breath she was holding before charging in blade flashing as she goes on the offensive.

Rinoa may or may not have some trouble, so anyone nearby should feel more than welcome to help, watch, or even offer her advice on just what she's doing wrong.]

I don't get it entirely, but if makes sense to you then it's okay. [She smiles slightly.] People keep telling me that I need to not give up on Squall so easily, so I think you shouldn't give up on Ace either. Maybe you can win him over again if that's what you had to do last time.

[Sad, slightly lost smile.]

But I'm not the one who won him over, eh. It was a lot more of Thatch and Pops and they're both... gone.

But it's all right. Giving up on my nakama goes against my grain. I'd die for him, so waiting out the firestorm isn't that much worse.

[This is going to be more than a little hypocritical coming from the girl who was just being all sniffly in her dog's neck, but whatever.]

Well, then consider this your chance to win him over then! You just said yourself that you're not going to give up on him so what do you have to lose?

Heh, I know. I just have to give him some space sometimes or he'll really hate me, eh?

You could always try hypnotizing him. [She even manages to say it with a straight face too.] It's really simple, just wave your finger in front of his eyes and say "You're-going-to-like-me!" at least twice.

[So very amused albeit, still deadpan forever.]

Ah of course, is that how you got our Commander?

[Her smile cracks just a tiny little bit at that, as Rinoa looks away to scan over the training grounds carefully.]

I guess you could say it was something like that, how'd you guess?

[Inwardly kicks himself, he thought it'd make her laugh. FAIL.]

Because it'd work on me of course.

[It was a fantastic reminder about things she's been trying so very hard not to think about.

Then he goes and pulls that next line, and she pushes aside the emo to beam up at him appreciatively.]

Would it really now? It's too bad that I never had a reason to try it out on you then.

Of course. Good thing Red-hair Shanks never figured out this secret weakness of mine or I'd be in for a heap of trouble.

I'll have to remember this in case there's something I want you to do for me and you don't want to do it.

[See? This is how you cheer Rinoa up. Not by reminding her of Squall.]

[Laughs.]

I'm pretty sure I'd be willing to do just about anything you asked of me anyway, eh?

Is that so? I'm going to have to remember that.

Should I be worried?

I don't know. [She leans forward, dark eyes bright with humor.] Do you think you should be worried?

That depends on whether you're creating a secret underground army of pirates to take over the skies and surface dwellers.

[She laughs and then shakes her head.]

No worries, that's not on the agenda anytime in the near future.

Then I'm not too worried.
