[ It was quiet. The weather was nice. Azula curled up beneath a tree with her books in the Quad, taking advantage of the lack of others to catch up with schoolwork. She felt like she lacked excitement-- she didn't yet have cause to ruin the Avatar and his friends lives and she didn't feel like killing Zuko just yet.
Zuko.
She sighed as she flipped a page in her textbook. She didn't like that they had managed to get to Zuko. He liked to pretend that he was still on her side but she knew better, of course. She had lost her brother. And while trying to convince Sokka she wasn't all that bad either was a nice plan, she doubted she could ever truly play her part correctly and murder Aang. Though she couldn't exactly say she didn't enjoy the company of the boomerang boy-- something that made her cringe and miss home even more.
Lack of excitement.
She glanced up from her book out at the silent courtyard and flopped back in the grass, holding her book up, lazily reading the text. ]
Zuko.

It's for my Home Economics class. [She's sure that Azula doesn't care, but Katara has no interest in entertaining the princess.]

Don't even try anything.

Or... what?

I'll tell the professor that you messed with it.
[Attempt to threaten? Definitely did not work.]

There are a ton of people here that would have messed with it, that accusation certainly wouldn't stick. I think it'd be worth seeing your face when it's all burnt to the ground if it does, anyway.
[ Blue fire filled her hands, and she moved quickly to knock Katara out of the way and light her little project on fire. ]

There's a gasp of surprise, and once she hits the ground she immediately scrambles up, hands moving to bend the water from the pail to extinguish the blue flames.]
The Headmaster knows about your firebending, you know!

[ Azula rolled her eyes before setting her hands on her hips. ]
Of course, I should probably just kill you, the plants aren't really enough for revenge.

But her words cause Katara's lips to turn into a frown, and she turns to round on the Fire Princess.]
Revenge? What do you want revenge for from me? I should be the one seeking revenge from you--

[ The smell of burnt plant life filled her nostrils. What a nice smell. If only the rest of the Garden could be burning, too. That would definitely be a boost to the mood, of course, that would probably get her kicked out of the school as well. Which wasn't very good.
She didn't feel the need to properly explain her anger to Katara-- though it surprised her just a little that Sokka hadn't talked to his sister about it at all. ]

I have no idea what you're talking about. In case you forgot, your nation is the one who is trying to dominate the rest of the world. Your nation is the one who wiped out all the waterbenders in my tribe. [Her fists curl at her sides.]
I don't see how I've done anything to make you upset, other than try to stop you in achieving your goals.

[ Saying the name out loud felt like acid dripping from her tongue. ]
tended to have the same problem. He has this habit of making girls absolutely useless.

[Yes, that came out as a loud squawk. She's rendered completely speechless for a moment from Azula's words. Shoving her tongue down Zuko's throat?! ... And what was this about Mai being his girlfriend?]
I don't know where you got that stupid idea from, but that's hardly what's been going on! We're not even friends!

It amazes me how some people can deny, deny, deny and yet everyone knows the truth.

[It doesn't really help matters with how flustered she's getting, completely red in the face and her fists clenched as she watched Azula crumble more of her destroyed plant. The poor pomegranates!]

Could you really not think of any other way to lure my brother over to your side? He is rather easy to manipulate though I don't think you had to use such disgusting methods. Perhaps Sokka gave you that idea-- that boy has such a perverse mind. Do you think if I did with Sokka what you're doing with Zuko he'd turn on you, too?

Alright, I see what you're getting at. But like I said, I haven't been luring him into anything-- he's the one who's been seeking me out. It's all been his own choice.

[ She fought the urge to hit her. It's not like she really cared about Zuko-- it was just that he was the only one on her side. Well, he was. Originally. She knew how it turned out in the long run but she should have been able to stop that. ]
but if you and your egghead of a brother would have left him alone he would have wanted nothing to do with you! So not only do I have an Avatar to kill, I have a traitor to rid of as well.
