[action, cafeteria]
Just like always. [It's a phrase that has been getting her through the entire week. And it's close to the truth. The jell-o (or she thinks it's jell-o) quivers and slips off her fork just the same. The same weird be-speckled tile lines the floor of the cafeteria. The same hard, vaguely uncomfortable chairs. Even the textbooks piled on the table look about what she'd expect from the schools she'd been looking at prior to... ending up here. Expect for the parts where there's Para-Magic involved.
That was different.]
Jell-O's still watered down, though.
[Slouching back in her chair, Willow picks at the corner of one of the books before turning her attention back to the wriggling, vibrant green cube accompanying a largely average dinner. Sh kicks the empty chair across from her.]

Out comes a whiteboard and a marker, which he holds up and begins writing on (facing her, and tilted towards her - one can only imagine how difficult this would be for someone not used to it.)]
Are you new here?

And yeah, he must have tons of practice.
But she smiles just the same, if it's a bit sheepish. And can't help laughing after a minute, just a chuckle, at herself.]
Oh, yeah. I'm that obvious about it, aren't I? [And she sighs, not quite dramatically.] There goes my 'incognito' act.

[Unspoken and unwritten is that she looked out of place, and more important, looked like she felt out of place - something that the 17-year old boy can easily empathize with. He smiles across the table at her, trying to be helpful (though there's that hint of 'oh god I'm gonna screw this up' buried somewhere there, a part of him telling him to FLEE FLEE FLEE).]
And you didn't even try to get a hotdog.
