001 [Action] Lobby!
[Have a perplexed, out of place Ryu. His attention is on a piece of paper in his hands, trying to make heads or tails of the situation at hand. The whole school thing was new to him, as, hey, farming communities don't really need education, they just need able bodies and sharp tools. Granted, he was deeper in the woods away from them, but it all fit together either way. He hadn't even begun exploring the school, let alone his own room. Any passerbys might notice a fishing pole leaning against the railing of the main walkway. It looked just like his clothing, in that it had seen a lot of time on the road.]
...Out of the frying pan, and into the fire, I guess.

[ At the question though, she paused, then turned to walk back the way she came, shaking her head enough to make her ponytail swing. ]
I don't know. I don't ... remember what it was like.
no subject
[He paused, that ever present smile fading. Gently, he put a hand on her shoulder, trying to offer her some sort of comfort.]
I know what it's like not to remember important things about yourself... I know exactly where you're coming from. Rei and Teepo found me in the forest when I was a child, we were orphans, all three of us.

She paused, glancing at the hand on her shoulder, puzzled. ] ... it's all right. Mr. Smith, one of the teachers here... he was helping me try to recover my memories.
[ Some of them she remembered - some good, ... a lot of them bad. ] You didn't know your parents either?
no subject
[After correcting himself, he caught the puzzled glance, moving his hand off her shoulder.] Er... Sorry. I thought it might make you feel better. That you have a friend, y'know?
no subject
Um... it's all right. [ She's just not used to the whole human contact thing. ] In a strange way it ... does make me feel a little better, I think.
[ ... yeah, definitely strange. She shakes her head though. ] Um- the cafeteria is probably going to be a little crowded. Those hot dog things I was telling you about .. they're really popular.
no subject
Well, your teacher doesn't have to be the only one to help you out. We're all in the whole "far away from home" thing together, right?
[He followed after her, curious about this "hot dog" thing.] I guess I have to try it first, huh?
no subject
... you're actually going to try it? [ LE GASP. Though she's giving Ryu a more than surprised look - dude, you're braver than she is. She leads the way into the cafeteria though, and my god the line to the counter is ridiculously long. ]
Um...
no subject
Sure, why not? It'll just be another adventure.
[And you'd think it would make him hesitate. It kinda did.]
...Huh. You weren't kidding.
no subject
... an adventure... [ She ponders this, because tasting a new dish that may or may not actually be dog is a strange adventure for her. But she won't complain. ]
I guess we should get on line then? [ Sure there were seven people ahead of them, but the line was bound to move quickly. Rather she's tense with the number of people around, glancing around like a rabbit that just stumbled into a lion's den.
Jeez Terra, these people aren't going to eat you. ]
no subject
[And there was Ryu, leading the way and motioning for her to take the spot in line behind him.]
no subject
[ Ryu taking the lead distracts her from suspiciously people-watching, and she quickly trotted into place behind him. The long line would give her time to think of what she wanted to get for herself. ]

I wish that the others here could understand that. [ Terra either is unaware of the attention or ignorant of it. Either way, she's busy glancing in the opposite direction mildly. ]
no subject
[Trying to change history established 400 years ago can be a trying task indeed. Beyond his ears perking ever so slightly, he didn't give much in the way of an indication to someone mocking them. Starting a fight here wouldn't be the wisest idea.]
Some longer than others.
no subject
[ She's motioning to the front of the line again, just as the trio of taunting turn about with their burden. And oh so 'accidentally' step in the wrong direction - if Ryu's not careful he's going to get mashed potatoes and juice all over his nice clean clothes! ]
no subject
I guess I'm getting back in line, Tina. Go ahead and pick out a table, I'll join you shortly.
[Fetching a nearby bundle of napkins, he did his best to clean the mess. Whatever they were hoping to accomplish was only a very minor inconvenience. Once he finished cleaning himself as best he can, he made his way to Terra, now lacking armor, his coat, and his scarf, all of which were laid on a pile in a chair next to him. Little to no indication was given, but now they had his attention.]
What a waste of food... Oh well, nothing a little elbow grease can't fix.
[And so he went on eating from a new tray, quietly enjoying Tina's company. Really, guys. He's not gonna get up in arms over what amounted to about fifteen minutes worth of cleaning.]
no subject
I'm sorry about them. [ Terra pokes at her salad a bit, frowning. ] I mean... that was really unnecessary. You aren't upset? [ Hey that could also have been designer armor. Some people would get upset over it! ]
no subject
Why? I know full well that I could catch up with them and teach them a lesson if I wanted to. I'm fast and strong enough to take on all of them, but it wouldn't be worth my time. What damage they did do amounts to maybe ten minutes of cleaning. Besides, I don't like hurting people, and it might have caused you trouble, when you've shown me nothing but kindness. If they need to do that to feel better about themselves, then by all means.
[He finished eating, stretching out in his seat.]
I'm used to being treated like that, you eventually just shrug it off. It just would have been a different story if they messed with you, then I'd be angry.
no subject
Why would you be angry?
no subject
[He knew what he said, and he meant it. Her being kind enough to show him around and spend a little time already made her a friend in his book.]
no subject
That's kind of you to say, but you shouldn't ... [ A pause here. ] It's not necessary.
[ She's done horrible things in her past, ... she knew of some of them, and others she .. didn't know but was haunted by vague echoes in her dreams. A little bullying is only natural - even expected. It seemed...familiar. ]
Come on, there's just two more places left, I think. [ Up she gets, glancing around to make sure the troublemakers had gone. ]
no subject
Alright, let's go.
[Scooping up his armor now, it was clean enough, anyway.
no subject
Did you already get your schedule for this semester?
no subject
I was actually thinking about what classes to pick when you found me.
[He hands her the scrap of paper, it had classes hastily scribbled down. It looks like there had been other things written before, but they were scratched out or erased.]
no subject
Oh? [ Terra pauses to look over the list, initially scanning it out of curiosity - then looking again, this time to see if she shared any classes. Nope. Well truthfully that wasn't a surprise - he was in the introduction courses after all. ]
Hn... I don't think I've taken any of these classes. Except the mandatory ones like Garden Code and introduction to weapons training.
[ She lead the way down the corridor again, handing the paper back. ] Although personally I think it is a little silly to take an introductory course in something I already know how to use.
