[At 0900 hours, the announcement bell chimes and once again a voice much more youthful than the Headmaster's begins to speak.]

Good morning, inhabitants of Balamb Garden! This is your pilot Nida speaking. Now that we're docked in Dollet, it's time to get our vacation on! That's right - everyone's free to leave Garden and stretch their legs. Hyne knows I will! [He sounds so eager and can't help but give a little laugh.]

Please remember to stay safe while exploring and don't go getting into too much trouble! Oh! I forgot - curfew. I know I know. Not something you want to hear, s-sorry! Anyways. About that curfew. Good news! All cadets are given an extra half-hour in which they must return to Garden for the remainder of the night. Instead of having to check in at 2300 hours, curfew for this week is 2330 hours.

Don't worry though. We'll be here all week! Plenty of time to sight see and whatever else you want to get done.

[The announcement ends, and the intercom clicks off.]

[ How to start? She was never the one who had to explain the Dark Hour. ]

Actually... Shadows are the creatures I was fighting, alone with my friends, back home. [ Minako looks up, smiling gently. ] Nothing I said was made up.

...to tell the truth, I've also been fighting Shadows with my friends before being sent here; I didn't make anything up, either. [He smiles slightly] Well, except for the mention about Philemon, but that's just because I didn't feel like saying 'Persona'.

Huh...?

[ Though she had a feeling deep down, to be told this now... Was there another group beside SEES fighting? No, Fuuka would have been able to sense them.

Was it possible for two separate worlds to be so alike...? Parallel worlds? ]

Minato-kun, do you know of Nyx?

[The thought of parallel worlds crosses Minato's mind as well. It would be the best explanation for everything so far.]

Sure, she's the Greek goddess of the night, mother of Hypnos and Thanatos... and a being closely related to the Shadows, who brings the Fall once summoned.

...let me guess: a group of people in your world decided to gather a large enough amount of Shadows to call Nyx, say, eleven years ago, only one of the scientists sabotaged the process?

[ She gives a nod, understanding that the same must have happened in his world. On one hand, she feels a sense of relief - that there's a bond connecting the two of them. On the other, she would not wish the Fall on anybody's world. ]

...have you fought Nyx?

[He shakes his head.]

Got sent here just when I was going to give her arbiter my answer.

[ Minako giggles lightly at the awkwardness of that situation. Looking apologetic, she offers a smile. ]

Sorry... I understand. Moments before I found myself here, we - my friends and I had managed to defeat Nyx's avatar.

[ She doesn't want to mention what happens next: Nyx's retaliation, her friends falling from the pressure around her... ]

[He smiles sheepishly as she giggles. Yes, that was a bad time to get summoned.]

Really? That's good.

[He won't ask for details, though he's now 2 for 2 on confirmations that they do, in fact, make it. He decides to change the subject.]

So I take it your old school also changes into the Shadows' nest during the Dark Hour, right? How did that work out for you?

[ It's definitely her turn to look sheepish now, a small flush on her face, even as she nods to the first question. ]

...I slept through it. Um, o-only for the first few days! And that was when [ closing her eyes, she remembers that night of the full moon ] I first summoned my Persona.

[His eyes widen in realization. Especially since the only person he knows who was knocked out for days after their first summoning was him.]

...did a much stronger Persona force itself out of the one you had first summoned?

[ Her reaction mirrors his. ]

Yes. It happened only once. Does that mean...?

[ She's glancing straight at him now. The 'you too?' is left unsaid. ]

[He just nods. He can guess most other questions he asks (particularly the ones related around why that stronger Persona appeared) will be answered in the affirmative.]

And all that time you were asleep, your mind was in the Velvet Room, then?

[ She nods in return, making a thoughtful mmm. ]

I never thought I would meet another wild card.

[ Minako wonders what else similarities their worlds share - and what differences there are. ]

Have you entered the Velvet Room since coming here, Minato-kun?

Me neither.

[Well, he did meet one here not that long ago, but it seems he got sent back - last he checked, Souji's name hadn't been on the dorm list for a while now.]

Yeah, I was called there on my first night here, mostly so I could be assured that I would be back at the same moment I had left once I got sent back. Afterwards, I found a door in my dorm room.

And yes, my roommate soon got used to my tendency to space out watching the wall.

Like a zombie!

[ This, she says cheerfully while laughing. ]

I hope mine will too. I haven't met her yet.

[He barely conceals a snicker] At least he didn't think I was going to eat his brain.

Well, I hope you get along with her well enough, Minako-chan.

Honestly? So would I. No wonder so many of my friends chose to hang out with me in Hagakure.

Definitely one of my favourite places to go! Their special is so good...
