001 - Minato Arisato - Entry

Good morning, everyone.

My name is Minato Arisato. I have met some of you already around the campus and I will probably meet the rest during classes. I hope we get along, at least until we get sent back to our original worlds.

Something I have noticed while talking to people, BTW - there is a good chance this Time Compression thing will bring people from your world, but at different point in time. After all, the SeeD Commander was thrown here from this same world of 20 years ago.

BTW, since it looks like most everyone here is in one scholarship or another, if there are any other Ambers reading this, please drop me a line.

PS - the rest of this entry is in Japanese, for the people who are not very good at English, and because I am translating it from there to English. Please let me know how I can improve my writing.

Forumspeak ... so you're used to this sort of ... this level of technology? These bulletin boards, and cars and computers and things...? I'm still learning about it all, really.

More or less. Some the things look more advanced than they are in my world; others, like the cars and bulletin boards, look at least 10 years old compared to what's current in my world.

Chocobos... you mean the large yellow birds, right? There isn't anything like that in my world... well, maybe ostriches, but they look completely different.

Well, the have black feathers, long neck and legs, and often make small holes in the ground in which they stick their heads into to sleep. I'm... not sure if they can be ridden.

...well, they make the holes themselves, right? So I guess they'd know to make them so that enough air goes in.

.. I ... I guess that makes sense. What a strange way to sleep though, shoving your head underground. I wonder why they do that. It can't be all that safe if a predator is nearby.

Ostriches seem to frequent large expanses of land like the savannahs. Those places don't have a lot of hiding places, so they can probably hear them coming easily, yeah.
