She's a...well, like, a pony, but with a horn and wings and junk. She's like, super smart!

Hmm. I think I saw someone like that. [he rubs his chin] I thought she was your Dash friend. She did a...[he waves a hand vaguely] purple shield thing.

She is, and Dash is awesome, but they're not really that much alike. Dash is all rough and tumble and fight, like me, you know? She knows how to use her ha-uh, hooves! But Twilight's all about books and stuff, and reading and planning. It would make me bored, but she's totally helped me with some of my classes, keeps me focused.

She sounds like a good friend as well. I have to thank her, actually. She really saved my butt back there. Is she coming to the leadership class with you?

I'll let her know, and yeah, she totes is!

Excellent. Then I'll make sure to have you do all her homework. [but he winks to let her know he's teasing]

And you're more of an action girl. [well he knew that anyway] Don't worry, leadership has plenty of that. Lots of drilling in the practice arena, too. Those t-rexes have been looking mighty hungry. [he rubs his chin]

Heck yeah! No way, you seriously have t-rexes? I've seen pictures of those!

I take it you haven't been in thetraining center yet. [he grins] They're pretty advanced, though, but you could probably take it.

How advanced? Like, when would you throe 'em at us?

When I think you're ready. [he doesn't intend to tell her] So be prepared. The lives of your team will be riding on the line.

I'll count on you, then. Tell me, since we're here, how much combat experience have you had and in what capacity?

Hmm. Well, I've been fighting with Cake for...a few years, actually. Demons, candy people, monsters....oh, and that one time I had to fight against something that wanted to end the world! Yeah, I'm pretty experienced!

So teamwork but not much group work. [he rubs his chin] Can you be a follower as well as a leader?

[fionna_time]

Well yeah, if I need to be! I mean, we have some major brains in this place, and people that know about magic and junk! Sometimes they need cover, sometimes that got, y'know, plans. So you pretty much hafta fill whatever role you're best at, you know?

[thatched]

Ah [he lifts a finger] sometimes you have to fill whatever role you're assigned--and to your best ability. Nine times out of ten, the commander will know what they are doing, but sometimes you might be in a following role where both you and the leader are over you head. Then what?

[fionna_time]

Oh. [That would be a pretty tough situation, wouldn't it? Then again, Fionna was learning a lot and being tested on what she could do, so...]

Improvise, pretty much! If you gotta think things up on the fly, you just do, right?

We'll have to see, won't we? [she would be an interesting to work with. It's too bad he couldn't have taught her tactics as well, but the two studies were so closely matched, some was bound to bleed over]

Anything specific you'd care to take from this?

Sure!

...Um, anything I don't know, I'll be pretty grateful for. I mean, I do have to work with groups more, and I should try to help lead there.

Aye. I'll keep that in mind. [he finished his meal and set it aside] It looks as it'll be an interesting semester for all, Miss Fionna...and right now, I'd better go prepare for it. Keep your nose clean, eh?
