First and foremost, congratulations to those who have become SeeDs. You've come quite far in your scholastic life, but now is the time to put what you've learned to use. You'll have our confidence that you'll be successful, otherwise you wouldn't have been given your new titles.

I seem to have missed quite a lot since my time away. A year can bring on quite the change if one isn't keeping up. We seem to have acquired a new addition to our fleet. Hopefully I'll be granted to at least view it from the inside. Has there been any news about that shark?

For those who may not know me, my name is Zechs Merquise. I'll be piloting Balamb Garden from time to time. I'll also be an instructor for those interning for the piloting specialization. I can guarantee that it will be tough, but you'll be more than adequately prepared once you become a certified pilot.

About this self-proclaimed mage: I'm sure we haven't heard the last of him just yet. Personally I'd rather sooner than later.

I'm a little surprised response to the proposal has been so... negative. Is there anyone here in Garden who actually wants to go home?

I think it may be, as someone else stated, that this person came from nowhere with their talents, but they seem to have waited all this time before surfacing. It's very suspicious, indeed. The appropriate departments seem to have thoroughly investigated the mage's proposal and deemed the risks to far outweigh the benefits.

In all, I'm not surprised by the result.

As far as wanting to go home, a lot of us may not have much of a home to go to. I'm on the fence with that.

No offense, but I think if he'd showed up right at the beginning and said he thought it was possible, but had no proof, no one would have listened to him either.

I'm pretty sure he would have brought proof, however.

Except now that he has proof, everyone wonders why he took so long to show up with it. I don't understand what would have been acceptable.

I'm pretty sure anything he would have presented would have been under heavy scrutiny from the very beginning. Whatever his motives may have been when it comes to waiting so long to emerge won't be found out without approaching him.

I've piloted aircrafts, spaceships, and a few mobile suits back home.

That's not very surprising. They aren't an everyday thing, when one thinks about it.

You should have seen Balamb Garden just a few years ago. What we have now is quite advanced.
