[Xiahou Dun was trying to get used to his new surroundings here. For someone who has never really dealt with technology, it wasn't an easy thing to do. First those doors, the elevator, everything was eyed carefully and with lots of suspicion before he uses any of them.

The technology isn't the only thing he has to get used to - the food is something he has to try as well, as nothing was really a reminder of the food he got in Ancient China. He stops in the canteen, his eyes flying over the menu list.]

Right, so they're pig intestines stuff with various other meats and spices. Usually more pig meat, but sometimes beef and whatever. Kind of like sausage but less disgusting.

They're best with sauces. Ketchup, relish, mustard, and a bun.

[Mikuru doesn't have a hotdog on her own tray, but the question makes her smile.] A sausage. It doesn't have real dog in it; it's just a mix of things like beef and pork.

[He's never heard of sausages either, but the beef and pork explanation made at least some sense to him.]

Is it really as good as they claim?

[Mikuru looks around, then leans in like she's sharing a secret but with a mischievous smile:] I don't get what the big deal is.

[As soon as Xiahou Dun notices that she starts leaning in he leans back simultaneously, just a little. Why was she doing this?]

I'm not so big on adventures with the food I'm eating.

[Not that he had much choice here, but at least he gets to know the tongue of the people that lived here then.]

[Ooh. Personal space bubble. Okay. Mikuru resumes her previous position.] What kinds of things are you more used to eating? The instructors don't really mind us using the home ec kitchens to make our own food, since our kitchenettes aren't very well equipped.

[That was much more comfortable for him.] Well, I eat meatbuns, tofu... those kind of things, if you are familiar with them.

Though I have to admit I can't really cook.

[Embarrassing, but his family had been always well off, so food had never been anything he had to worry about.]

Yeah, hot dog prince! Don't get too close, he smells like hot dog water though.

But I think there's some kind beef in hot dogs or something...

That doesn't sound like you ate it, though.

Well he's a hot dog prince, of course he smells like that.

I ate it! I just guessed what it was made from cuz of the taste.

Is that that logical? [He'd thought the Hot Dog prince might be the person who has invented it or something along those lines... that didn't mean he had to smell like hot dogs, right?]

It's cylindrical meat that the Surface people eat with fluffed bread called 'buns'.

With a bread? That doesn't sound too bad.

[He's considering it for a moment.]

Do you enjoy this kind of food?

It's actually pretty good.

Sometimes for parties and barbie ques, otherwise I try to eat healthier food.

Is it? [Perhaps then it might not hurt to try it out, right?

Though the next sentence gets definitely more attention.]

Do you know of any healthier food here?

Of course. There's fruits, vegetables, grains, and sometimes they get seaweed that I cook up and eat for a little protein snack.

[That sounded definitely a lot better than such an ominous food.]

Ah, thank you. I'll rather try to find that sort of food.
