[The whole "people popping in from other worlds" thing had necessarily delayed the first meeting of the Flight Squad, along with... uh, other problems its founded and head is having, but nevertheless, Rainbow Dash has called for all the members to assemble outside of Garden in the afternoon period slated for activities.]

[While she waits for them to form up, she's warming up herself -- little things like loops and rolls in midair, zipping from one side of Garden to the other just to stretch her wings. By the time everyone's arrived, she's gotten enough energy out of her system and enough focus into it to take her place in the air above them.]

All right, everypony -- welcome to the first meeting of the Flight Squad. Today you all take your first steps on the path to aerial excellence. We're going to work hard, we're going to train hard, but most importantly, we're going to enjoy it, because we are born to the air! Flight is a gift not everypony gets. In a lot of ways, we're very different from our friends and colleagues. That doesn't mean they're worse off for it, they have their own gifts too, but it does mean that we, all of us here, already share something with each other that we don't with others. And we're here to celebrate that!

[She's been working on this speech. She hopes it comes off as cool as she wants it to...]

First off, I want everypony to introduce themselves, and tell us a little about how you fly and where you learned it. We have a lot of different people here, with different ways of flying, so it's important we all understand each other. When we're up in the air, we're counting on each other to perform, and that kind of trusts means you need to know who the other person is and what they can do.

[And Koriand'r immediately jumps in]

I'm Koriand'r but everyone calls me Kori. I fly by using energy from the sun to power it. Almost all of my people can fly. It's normal for us.

Now, I want each of you to give us a sample of your flying. Show off as much as you want. I'm using this to see what you can do and what your skill level is. The first step to training is knowing what you can do, what you can't do, and how far you can push your limits.
