WARK [Event/Open threading]

[The Ragnarok lands on the Island Closest to Heaven with a resigned thud, a cue for the cadets and SeeDs to begin unbuckling and preparing themselves for the day's misery. Behind them, the main doors hiss open and the ramp to the ground descends, audible if not visible from the transit rooms --]

[Then, the entire ship shakes with several rhythmic thuds, followed immediately after by a strangled yelp from the Commander. As the interior door opens, she is revealed sprawled on the floor by the hatch, pushing herself up on her arms to stare in quivering shock at the large red chocobo which has set off onto the island at a leisurely trot.]

IMPROMPTU MISSION! [She stabs a finger at the chocobo.] Whoever catches that thing and brings it back to the ship gets -- I don't know, a Rank increase or a few days off from this training, something. Just get it!

[With a proud WARK the chocobo heads off over a hill and out of sight.]


[OOC: Tag however you want. Form teams, go exploring... the chocobo will be around.]

[Aerith has more important things to do---like keeping cadets alive---so she wavers in the doorway.]

Why is catching this chocobo so important? Is it your pet, Commander?

[The question so startles the Commander that she slumps in the middle of sitting up, sagging to a half-kneeling position.]

No. It is a stray that appeared one day.

[Aerith looks confused.]

You seem awfully concerned for its welfare. It's...nice.

It knocked me over. I'm going to have a Home Ec Instructor barbeque it.

[She isn't serious, just irritated as she picks herself up and dusts herself off.]

...it has no idea what it's getting into.

[Aerith lets out a startled laugh and turns to pursue a cadet out of the airship.]

I'll just have to make sure they live long enough to catch it and bring it back.

Hey, isn't this thing familiar?

[Piyomon blinks, looking at it for a moment before nodding.]

Yeah. I think it got pretty mad at me last time.

Hey! Let's go catch it!

[scatterflower]

[Chika nods.]

Might as well. I mean, it's going to get itself hurt at this rate.

Hopefully it won't try to fight me once we show up there.

Oh come on, you can beat a giant chicken. Especially if you go all -- [She throws her hooves up to indicate his transformation.]

Beating it's not the problem. Keeping it alive after is.

[Chika let out a nervous giggle.]

Come on, let's just... see what happens once we find it. We can worry about it not liking you later Piyomon.

Ha ha, race you!

[She all but shoots off, just enough to establish her superiority before turning on her back to wave at them.]

[Chika sighs.]

Dash. What are you doing? You remember how strong these monsters are supposed to be, right?

We're not fighting monsters. We're going after the chocobo, remember?

[scatterflower]

Do you really think we're going to be able to avoid all the monsters while chasing after it?

[elementofloyalty]

[Rainbow -- who is up in the air where the monsters aren't -- looks back and down at Chika and Piyomon. Then she swoops back over to land next to them.]

We gotta be fast, we gotta be attentive, and we gotta find it quick.

[...Rainbow has apparently decided to take this seriously.]

[Chika nods, turning to Piyomon as she pulls out her digivice.]

Yeah. We need to get him quickly. Maybe if we stick to the sky, we won't have anything to worry about.

[Chika sighs, concentrating as her digisoul flared to life in her hand.]

You ready, Piyomon?

[Piyomon nods, moving further away from Chika and Rainbow Dash, and Chika wastes no time in slamming her hand down on the digivice.]

Digisoul Charge!

[Within moments, Piyomon evolves into Aquilamon, spreading his wings as Chika runs to climb on top of his back.]

[Rainbow Dash springs back into the air, a brilliant grin on her face.]

So NOW how about that race?

[scatterflower]

[Chika sighs. Geez Dash, this was serious, remember?]

I don't know.

I don't mind it if you don't, Chika.

... Fine. But be careful and don't be stupid.

[elementofloyalty]

[It's not serious right up until -- up until it BECOMES serious!]

All right, ready? Three, two, one, GO!

[And Dash is off like a shot, a rainbow wake trailing behind her.]

[scatterflower]

[And there Aquilamon goes, flying after Dash as fast as he could, trying to keep up.

But well, Rainbow Dash wasn't called Rainbow Dash for nothing. This was going to be harder than he thought.

Chika's just going to sigh, and look to see if she sees a sign of the red chocobo anywhere. One of them should at least be doing their job here.]

Oh, I knew I should have brought Gysahl Greens!

[And so Mikuru sets off after it. She has not had a previous encounter with this chocobo. She does not care about a rank increase or any other potential rewards.

[She just has a pet chocobo that likes to run off, and thus a lot of experience with this.]
