I'm hearing words like 'suicide mission' and 'torture' getting thrown around and I have to wonder... what exactly is such a big deal? You go out. You fight some monsters. You make sure they don't string you up around a tree by your own entrails, because that's how you, you know. Don't die.

I for one am looking forward to seeing what this world has to offer.

It's not really, but if you don't know what a GF is, you don't qualify, kiddo. The mission's reqs seem to be the one GF class.

So how do I get one of those? Preferably yesterday? I'd rather not deal with being the only one here being willing to do this and yet the only one not able.

No, there's no quicker way, but I repeat, there will be other opportunities in the future, be patient.

What did you do back in your world that you consider yourself used to this sort of thing, if I may ask?

Game hunter, reagent collector, and general front-liner for my clan. Typically had to hunt malboros and mandragoras, though I've had more than a few tussles with dragons.

What does a reagent collector do?

At least it sounds like you're an experienced fighter. What kind of weapon or martial arts specialty have you got?

Collects reagents. Ingredients, usually for spells and potions. You'd be surprised how many alchemical applications malboro tentacles have when the toxins are boiled away; especially if you can manage to get an intact eyestalk.

I specialize in firearms, rifles especially. First class gunner, only non-mage in a mage clan.

Sounds familiar. There are various parts for weapons and potions from some of the monsters around here too. And also Triple Triad cards.

Sounds like you'll be able to handle yourself next time the opportunity presents itself then, but make sure you learn at least a little about the Guardian Forces. They're my weak point and it's bitten me in the ass more than once in a real fight here.

What are these "guardian forces" anyway? I'm not... like, asking for the class or anything, but I've never heard anything like that back home.

Just like they sound, they're forces that guard you keep you safe. Each one can do different spells or abilities. You have to junction them and they can create some memory loss if you use them too much. It's usually mild at first, but my memories are important to me so I don't practice with them often.

In order to get them from enemies you have to draw from them, like you would draw spells. But once you junction, you're pretty good to go. We have GFs here thanks to Kadowaki and his research. However, you really have to have the classes in order to understand how to use them.

...so it's like Judges, except they grant you additional powers as well, at the cost of mental strain.

What are the Judges?

Magicks back home. They materialize as armor-clad knights, and as long as you act according to their restrictions, they protect a clan from loss of life in a battle.

A lot of bigger clans see the Judge pacts as "training wheels" for clannies, given that you can't fight at your full potential, but needn't fear death.
