[Mikuru sits in her dorm common area, holding up a small notepad as cue cards. She squints at the camera to check it's on, then takes a deep breath, smiles, and starts.]

Hello, Garden! I'm Mikuru Asahina, leader of the the Garden Festival Committee, and we're recruiting new members and people to help run this year's Homecoming carnival and dance! If you're not so sure about it, you're welcome to work with us as a trial member just for Homecoming [though she would love you forever if you stayed], and you'll definitely still have time to participate in the activities and not just run them.

[She falters for a second, then puts her smile back on. It's smaller this time, though.] And this isn't related to the GFC, but if anyone has errands that need doing, I'm only taking classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons this quarter. So I would be happy to help anyone out in the mornings or on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

[And she reaches forward to turn the camera off.]

[He has older sisters; he's very capable of knowing how to deal with crying girls. Still, he can't help grinning as he holds it out to her.]

It's the least I could do. Don't think much of it.

[She shakes her head with a grin, taking the cake and moving to the kitchenette for some cutlery.] It's still - it means a lot to me.

If you say so. [He can't quite wipe that smile off his face as he goes ahead and rummages around for a knife, some forks, and a couple of plates.]

I think you'll get it next time, though. It can't be that bad.

[She sighs.] It was. I choked.

It was a field exam. They can't take you to the same place twice.

[Day doesn't like openly being this sympathetic, but at the same time, it's not a situation where he'd tease her about it mercilessly either.]

They probably could if the mission was really different...

[She takes a deep breath and lets it out.]

But it's another quarter away; I'll find out then.

[Mikuru would like to just not think about another field exam, really.]

[Honestly, he's jealous. At least Mikuru GETS the chance to graduate! He's stuck here for another two long, miserable years.]

Yeah. [He shrugs.] So what're you gonna do in the meantime?

[She shrugs back.] I'm taking a couple of advanced classes this quarter, and that pet one. [With her chocobo. This will be comedic.] And this gives me more time with the GFC... [And more time to find a new leader, as she's not sure her current ~~NPC~~ members are up to snuff.]

At least you won't be bored. Homecoming's coming up, right? [He remembers, if only because he really likes politics.] It'd be a good time to train the other kids.
