I'm curious, Garden. There are a lot of us here, and I've been wondering. What are your dreams? What is the one thing you really want to do?

Sure. Mine is to see the floating lights, the ones that appear in the sky every year on my birthday.

It is! From what I saw from my window back home at least. But I think that's a really nice dream, to be with your friends and have them safe. Was...back home really dangerous for you?

I see. I think it would be good to end the war. Ideally, people would be able to decide whether to stay here or not once we manage to figure out the Time Compression.

I think that will be up to them, but I don't think they would mind the extra help? I guess that is something they'll sort out closer to the time, probably.

Right. They're trying to help us and teach us about this world and giving us a place to stay. I don't think they would mind if some might want to stay here rather than go back. I'm not sure how long that will take though.

I do need to go back. To see the lanterns, to meet my parents.

My home was the tower. I never knew anything else until I met Eugene and left.

It was. I was there until I almost turned eighteen.
