[Yuna feels pretty accomplished at the moment. She's able to find her way to her dorm room, most of the time, and she's learned how to reply to messages on the computer. Video messages are still a complete mystery to her, but she isn't too worried about it.]

[Right now she's sitting in the cafeteria during her lunch break with a bowl of fruit sitting in front of her, feeling just a little homesick. After adjusting the jacket of her uniform for the hundredth time, Yuna returns to pushing around bits of fruit with her fork.]

[SOMEone has to look after Braska's girl, and lacking Braska himself, well, that doesn't leave anyone else to do the job right. So Jecht's just gonna stand here and look down at her with gruff concern.]

[Yuna looks up and puts on a smile. She hadn't mean for anyone to see her like that, and she certainly doesn't want Sir Jecht to worry about her.] I'm just not used to fruit that isn't Besaid's. [A little pang of homesickness hits her again.]

Yes, I'm starting to find my way around. This place is so big, though! Everyone from Besaid and Kilika would fit in here. [Another pang. She really should stop mentioning home.]

It's nothin' compared to the way Zanarkand used to be. Besides, you ain't seen the big cities here like Esthar yet. Give it time.

[Yuna turns a rather magnificent shade of red. She grabs her glass of water and gulps the rest of it down, which leaves her a coughing, sputtering mess for a few seconds.]

[Jecht, who is drinking nothing, instead chokes on his own tongue when he hears that tone of voice.]

Look, forget that. [Please, please, forget that. Jecht yanks out a chair and sits down roughly, leaning in.]

How much do you know? You know... [He jerks his thumb at himself.]

[Yuna stares at him, confused. She knows that he's a father, so what exactly is he asking--

Oh. She blushes again, feeling a bit silly.]

I know. 'He' did too. Sir Auron told him.

[Jecht sighs. Well, probably better that she knows. Actually he kind of wonders if she'd helped kill him like the Al Bhed girl had told him, but that's WAY too awkward to ask.]

Do me a favor and keep it quiet? No pyreflies means no Sin here, but off-worlders have got a bad enough rap without people knowing one of 'em terrorized a whole world for a while.

[She frowns.] But, Sir Jecht! That wasn't your fault! [She'd have a few choice words with anyone who said otherwise.]

Puttin' that aside... [Sure it's his fault. He knows it is.] People on this world are scared of magic and weird powers, and they ain't gonna wait around for explanations. It's better for everyone, especially the kids here, if that doesn't get around.

[Sigh.] I guess you're right. I won't say anything.

[She looks down at her plate and starts pushing the fruit around again.]

Hey, don't get all mopey or anything. Sure, it's a world that ain't used to us, but Garden's okay! There's good people here.

[That's a facial expression she knows all too well. So Rinoa takes her trey and stack of papers, and heads over for Yuna's table.]

Hey neighbor, is that seat taken? [Not that she waits for an answer. Sorry Yuna.]

You seem a little blue. Is everything okay?

Hm? [She looks up to see Rinoa sitting down at her table.] Oh, hello again! I'm fine, I was just...thinking.

[She notices all the papers Rinoa has with her.] Homework?

Don't think on it too much you'll get frown lines. [She smiles slightly.] What I mean is there are a lot of things we can't change right now, so it's better to not worry about them too much.

[She looks down at the stack of papers by her tray and makes a face.] Something like that. My night class starts up soon and I'm trying to make sure I have everything ready.

[Rinoa's smile is very infectious! Yuna can't help but smile back.] I guess you're right.

Night class? Oh! [She remembers seeing those posters and hearing other students talking about it.] That sounds like fun. Are you nervous?

Of course I'm right. I've had a lot of time to think about this stuff after all.

Super nervous! This is scarier than when I took the SeeD exam. At least then I had people I could count on to help me. This time it needs to be all me.
