Well, I finally managed to finish painting the dorm room. I think it looks a look better now, it was just so....plain before. I'll definitely be sure to paint over it later if Eugene and I change rooms, but I don't think it should be a problem.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone was interested in setting up a group activity? I know I had a lot of hobbies back home. I could paint, or sew, teach people how to make candles, play chess, chart stars, play guitar, paper mache, pottery....all sorts really. As long as I have access to the materials for things, at least. I thought it would be a neat way for people to make new friends and learn some new skills? Especially the newer arrivals who might not know anyone here really.
Oh. One last thing! Lea, Merlin, I don't know if you have met Eugene yet but if you haven't, I'd like to introduce you at some point.

also wow that's a long list. there should be an art club or something.
no subject
I did have more hobbies too, but those are the ones I remembered off the top of my head. An art club would be great!
no subject
i wonder if anybody would sponsor it? who teaches the art classes? i didn't look at those too closely, i kinda suck at it, so. i'd come if there was a club though!
you know, just as long as nobody's grading me or anything.
no subject
I didn't think about sponsors? But the list says it's Sharpay I think? The teacher I mean. And art isn't really something that could be graded, I don't think. It's aesthetic and that sort of thing seems more subjective to the viewer to me, at least.
no subject
sharpay? oh yeah i think i talked to her once! maybe. i should ask. and you're probably right about art and grades and stuff but if it's a class they have to grade you on something, right?
no subject
If you could ask if she wants to help or something that would be great! And, well I guess that's true. Art is just something I like to do for fun, so I never thought of it as studying or anything. If I started a club or something I wouldn't be grading anything. It's just for everyone to come and have fun and improve on their skills in painting or sketching or pottery.

with stuff like art or drama or whatever it's always more fun when you don't have to worry about getting graded on it!
hey who knows i might even learn how to do more than a stick figure one of these days.
no subject
Exactly! and I'm sure we can get you progressing from stick figures one day.

A...what? [She's not exclusively intending just sewing/knitting but 'bitch' is not in Rapunzel's vocabulary.]
no subject
A stitch and bitch. It's a common term used for social gatherings where the members knit and carry on casual conversation. While I have a feeling the creative endeavors won't be as narrow, it would be nice to keep the spirit of friendliness intact.
no subject
Oh? I'd never heard of it that way before. But yes, I am hoping it would be a chance for some of the more recent arrivals to make friends at least.
no subject
Being engaged in a familiar activity should give them the chance to open up marginally, I'd think. It's certainly a ready-made conversation topic.
