[BBS - Espio has been wondering this for a while. Most of the people he knows reasonably well either are already SeeDs or haven't been in the Garden long enough to qualify.]

So it's finals next week. No idea when the SeeD exam'll come up, but is anyone else preparing for it? I need to know what sort of idiots I'm gonna get teamed up with.

[ACTION - Espio wrote the BBS message in a brief moment of distraction. He's in the library, laptop close by, flicking through some cookbooks in the hopes of finding something he can reasonably have a go at.

Yes, he's totally taking this challenge from Grell way too seriously.

On the plus side, at least he can now confidently say he can cook. To a point where he'd rather eat his own cooking than cafeteria food.

Still...

Oh for... swear these people live in a whole different world. Preparation times are way off... and just how much gil do they reckon normal people have? I can't even get most of this stuff in town, either. So this is a no...

So I should have passed the SeeD exam and be getting some sort of salary by then... but you'd better chip something in, it is your wedding.

We shall, although we too are on a budget. I'm sure we can make a bit of extra earnings somehow.

[Looks a bit suspicious. This is because, "family" or not, Marco is a pirate and Grell is a psychopath. Theft seems like pretty much the only choice for these "extra" earnings. And, while it may seem a bit hypocritical from Espio considering his history, he just doesn't like it. He's a crimefighter by profession, after all.]

So what're you gonna do now? Branch out and become an expert at everything?

Maybe. I've still got three years before I graduate so that's a possibility...

I was thinking of talking to Headmaster about internships or apprenticeships or whatever they call it.

That could work. You'd get more specialised training, then.

True. Though I've been wondering for a while why so many people have been studying here for years - either there's a lot more material to cover than what we got taught, or everyone is too dumb to pass their exams.

Yeah, there's a slagton of material that most off-worlders don't cover. I take some of my classes with the natives - English, Math, etc - and they talk about how much in-depth they go into with para-magic and stuff.

I think we're only taught the bare basics.

Because we started later than the natives, probably. Most of the off-worlders are over the age of 15.

Yeah. Only a few of us're my age, so we get stuck with the longer classes.

They're not bad since half my class doesn't realize I'm an off-worlder... but I'm not sure how the others fared.
