[BBS - Espio has been wondering this for a while. Most of the people he knows reasonably well either are already SeeDs or haven't been in the Garden long enough to qualify.]
So it's finals next week. No idea when the SeeD exam'll come up, but is anyone else preparing for it? I need to know what sort of idiots I'm gonna get teamed up with.
[ACTION - Espio wrote the BBS message in a brief moment of distraction. He's in the library, laptop close by, flicking through some cookbooks in the hopes of finding something he can reasonably have a go at.
Yes, he's totally taking this challenge from Grell way too seriously.
On the plus side, at least he can now confidently say he can cook. To a point where he'd rather eat his own cooking than cafeteria food.
Still...
He's muttering to himself.]
Oh for... swear these people live in a whole different world. Preparation times are way off... and just how much gil do they reckon normal people have? I can't even get most of this stuff in town, either. So this is a no...
[Sighs, and flicks to the next page.]

A shame you didn't have myself or Marco with you for your exam, pinkie.
-Grell ♥
[Grell has her own laptop a few feet away from Espio. Yes, she messaged him from so close by. The laptop is so interesting to her. And how could she allow an opportunity to spy on Espio to pass by?]

Oi!
[He shouts, despite being in a library.]
If you're going to sit there, you can talk to me in person!
1/2
[She looks up at the shout, giving him a look.]
Use your indoor voice. Have you no decency for others?
no subject
And also, I rather enjoy this...laptop. [ADJUSTS GLASSES]

[He's not shouting, but it still seems loud in the quiet library. Indoor voice? What indoor voice?]
no subject
If it means replacing your NORMAL attitude, I'm all for change. [Smirks]

EDIT
I can certainly affirm that the experience does dull down through such a medium. [She gestures to her laptop in emphasis.]

[Grumbles, then turns back to the pile of cookbooks.]
Well, at least I haven't got you to worry about on my exam... what's better, strawberry or raspberry?
no subject
Not a positive experience, but an experience nonetheless.
...how subtle of you, pinkie. [Crosses her arms] It really depends on what you wish to create with either.
no subject
...curry.
no subject
...please tell me you're jesting.
no subject
no subject
Within reason! Neither fruit would serve as a proper ingredient for curry, you DOLT! If you must make curry, use chocolate.
[SIGHS]
See, this conversation would have been far less stressful through a different medium.
no subject
Here.
[Holds up one of the books, open to a page showing this.]
Something along those lines.
no subject
[Grell takes a look and believes food should look the way it should taste.]
...is that curry?
no subject
no subject
Stop changing the bloody subject! First you wish to discuss curry, and now you're pointing out a mousse.
no subject
You do realise I don't have to be serious all the time, right?
no subject
Now I know you're joking~.
So, allow me to understand. You wish to make this delicious looking mousse for at least fifty people?

Marco and I have planned for a spring wedding.

We shall, although we too are on a budget. I'm sure we can make a bit of extra earnings somehow.
[Marco seems to know how. Look at that rock on her finger!]
no subject
[Looks a bit suspicious. This is because, "family" or not, Marco is a pirate and Grell is a psychopath. Theft seems like pretty much the only choice for these "extra" earnings. And, while it may seem a bit hypocritical from Espio considering his history, he just doesn't like it. He's a crimefighter by profession, after all.]
Do something stupid, and you'll have raw turnips for every course.
no subject
[Grell is no thief! Goodness, even she has standards!]
Such as?
no subject
no subject
...as long as we do not get caught, then there is no problem.
imagine the icon has a turnip and not an emerald
PFFFFF Espio, you're overreacting!
You're quite paranoid, pinkie.
Shh, he's amusing himself.
[He says, in an unusually cheery voice.
And it kind of is his job... you know. Fighting crime? Badly? ...with, um, turnip threats?
Yeah.]
no subject
I'd like to say that your current job has to do more with fighting the injustice of poor culinary choices, and justice for all.
no subject
I can still be all "justice" on the side.
no subject
Your favorite~? [GRINS] Espio, such a softie underneath it all, I see.
no subject
no subject
[Just. Give him a wink and blows him a kiss.]

What else would you give someone you dislike? There is no better way to throw off one's enemy than with compassion.
no subject
[Yes, Grell, he is thinking of the pink, Garden-wide birthday celebration.]
Besides, you're an annoyance, not the enemy.

I was thinking of talking to Headmaster about internships or apprenticeships or whatever they call it.

It'd be a waste of sponsorship money if I sat around and did nothing.

I think we're only taught the bare basics.

They're not bad since half my class doesn't realize I'm an off-worlder... but I'm not sure how the others fared.
