I'll attempt to make amends by diligently hounding our communal online space for the next week or so, leaving no subthread untouched by my conversation. The cause of my distraction was none other than a few trinkets from home dropped my way during the holiday season. Let it not be said that my opinion of Time Compression is one purely composed of blind hatred - it seems that the phenomena can be quite magnanimous when the proverbial mood strikes it. Perhaps not for you, given the nature of my gift, but I'm certainly enjoying myself to the utmost. Even if more than a few objects were martyred by fire in the name of gaining experience.

Speaking of sacrifices, I don't believe that I've ever mentioned my vested interest in the field of psychology. I bring this up solely as in the past few days I've managed to acquire my first patient here and thought that perhaps some others would benefit from similar services. I promise to keep things confidential and not trigger any waterworks during the first session, which is more than most counselors have any right to claim. We can work out the details of a schedule at your discretion.

I'll freely admit that Nepeta is one of the more tolerable members of her species, but I can assure you that individuals with a temperament similar to hers are few and far between with trolls. You're best off approaching them as one would a particularly stupid but equally dangerous feral beast. Small words and a calm demeanor would serve you best.

Rose Lalonde. A pleasure, I'm sure. As to my initial reference to the gift giving season, I received certain items that would likely be classified as highly destructive by the rest of the populace. In testing out their abilities I may have set one or two things on fire, among other property damage.

The portraits were a bit vexatious, weren't they? To be sure they offered an interesting insight into the delicacies of one's choice as well as nature versus nurture, which is fascinating on its own. But I'm just as glad as you are to be rid of them, especially for a winning trade-off such as this.

Indeed. The shock factor wasn't even relatively high enough to denote them a successful joke.

If they decide to open their venomous maws at a time when I have an even lower tolerance for such narrow-minded trash than usual I'd likely make short work of them. It's a little bit like beating a paraplegic, however; if they didn't bring it upon themselves I might feel relatively guilty for the ease at which I'd devastate them.

Considering that any family that comes to me would be my first true group therapy session I imagine there would be a few kinks to work out before I become accustomed to the style. However, as a whole your worries are completely unfounded. I'm perfectly capable of aiding people in seeking a healthier state of mind.

The point of psychology is not to instantaneously know the patient's problems but to help them come to terms with their issues and work through them, a goal which mind reading does very little to further.

Indeed I did. I received the Thorns of Oglogoth, a pair of magical wands with tremendous capability. Although I'd have rather gotten a one-way ticket home this is a very strong second place, so I've nothing to complain about.

As to that, I was referring to my psychology patients. I've finally managed to wriggle my way into setting up shop here and am looking forward to aggressive expansion.
