How many people have come from worlds where chocobos and magic similar to the GF system exist? Do you find the system odd or is there enough similarities that you can pick it up easier? Are there animals or monsters that you expect to see in this world that you haven't? Are there monsters or animals that you were surprised to see here? The Library is okay for general information, but I was just wondering if there were other people that come from a planet almost like this one. S.

Seakings aren't here. It's strange, but by no means the strangest. I still want to meet a phoenix.

Chocobos don't exist in my world but they're similar to the spot-billed duck squad. I most want to know why there are no giants or fishmen. Or mermaids. The closest to that is the Siren.

I've seen a couple phoenix on my world. They are very rare. Similar in the general shape or are they big enough to carry people? There were a kind of fishmen on the Planet but I haven't found any listed in the books here. S.

Both. And they both sort of quack.

Kind of Fishmen?

It was like looking into a fire - red and gold and yellow and orange. The tips of the feathers were a pale blue and the eyes were a dark red. That's pretty interesting. From what I understand, they look a little like someone took a fish, gave it a frog's throat and put a turtle shell on their back. -S.

Multi-colored then?

Huh... that's... Ah I have no words for that. Most fishman in my world look like reverse mermaids... well sort of. Sharkmen. Although there are octopus-men and so forth too.

[ Like how a fire is multi-colored. It doesn't look like it until you look away and then see all the colors. I've never seen anything like that. -S.

I see. That really is amazing then.

It's strange to think than entire race could exist only on one world when humans seem to be almost everywhere.

I wonder if it has to do how basic a humanoid shape really is. Consider the fact that most creatures tend to be almost human looking. There's got to be a reason for it other than humans perceiving other races without really looking at them first. -S.

You think so? Like walking upright gives more brain power?

It allows for the use of tools, which does help with building up more brain power for other things. Not that I expect monsters to learn the same way as people, but it does give them an added edge. -S.

Chocobos are on Spira, but we have Spheres back home, not GFs.

Spheres? What are they like? -S.

Basically, they let you learn all sorts of cool spells and tricks and some even make you stronger! I'm a little fuzzy on the details, though, just how to use 'em. --Rikku

What do they look like? Did they have to be shaped in order to utilize the magic better or were they just there? -S.

I dunno, I just grabbed the spheres from the fiends we destroyed and used 'em. Everything worked fine as far as I know. I'm not a mage, though, so maybe the magic ones worked differently.

They came from the monsters? That's different from what I know about magical energies. We could sometimes steal a talent from a monster, but not the magic. -S.

We didn't steal them, they...just left 'em, after dying. Things that die turn into pyreflies back home, so we didn't have any dead bodies to dig through.

Huh. Sounds a lot less messier than some of the things in my world even with the Lifestream taking everything back after a while. -S.

we had chocobos where i'm from! and the spell names are almost exactly the same too. it was easy to learn the spells at least since i could kind of already do them. and some of the monsters sound a lot alike, too. we didn't really have gfs though not exactly. i think the planets are kinda the same but perfectly the same! -vanille

Do you breed them or race them? The spells do have the same names and work almost the same, but I am used to a different way to utilize them. The monsters do sound a like here and there, but I've noticed that the Planet had some odd mixture of machine and animal that I haven't seen here yet. They remind me of summons in that they are extremely powerful creatures locked away until you call them. I had a friend that wanted to go to the stars. He would say that it is possible there were other planets near ours that might be similar. I wondered if that's the case. -S.

i never raced them, we just kind of let them run around on their own really. sometimes you could ride them, but they're really picky about it and they'll throw you off if you get on their nerves! i'm used to the spells working different too. i never had to draw them from anything, before! we could just use them however we wanted, as many times as we wanted. summons? you had summons that weren't gfs and they were locked away? [ Dare she ask? It could be that they're Eidolons, but, she doesn't want him to ask questions if they aren't... ] is that what you called them? just summons? there might be! though i think time compression has more to do with other worlds than other planets.... -vanille

There's a few people who raced or breed them on the Planet. I used to race my Gold chocobo regularly until my business started up and then I gave her to a chocobo ranch. There were a limit with how many times a spell could be used, mainly because it all depended on the caster's energy levels. Yeah, just summons. My mother's people... they used to call them the old gods that had been placed inside the Lifestream because they grew too wild. I think that's what she said... Worlds and planets are the same thing, worlds just means a place with people on it. -S.

wow that sounds really neat! i wish i could race one... i rode one before but it just wasn't the same as racing i guess even though it was still fun. we never had any limit... we could cast however many times we wanted!! [ A perk of being a l'Cie. ]

the old gods... mm i dont think ours were much like that. [ Related to Gods, sure... But they weren't actual fal'Cie. ] i guess its all only a little similar. do you think so?? i've been thinking about that, and if that was true, that means that your planet and my planet are out there somewhere, so all we have to do is find it right? we wouldn't have to worry about time compression. - vanille

Some people have a knack for racing. Chocobos won't run for just anyone. Lucky. We had a potion to drink in order to keep being able to cast. Finding them might be a little difficult. I don't think this place has any space program. -S.

but they'll run for you huh? sounds like you're really good with them. have you taken home ec yet? you get to raise baby ones in there!! :) i guess we're a little lucky because of that. but we're unlucky in other ways [ Nevermind. She doesn't want to type that. ]

Not yet. I am starting on some basic classes first. Maybe. There must be a trade off for it though. There always is. There has to be a way when you think about it. People that study the stars have to know a few tricks. -S.

i took a lot of the easy ones first too. there probably is. [ No. There is. She knows there is. Being a walking draw point sounded like a great thing at first... But now, she isn't so sure. ]

it would be kind of nice if they did. then everyone who wants to go home would have some hope that we can find a way to get there. i'm still not sure that's how it works though. - vanille
