[Since there was still about a week before the new term began, M'gann figured to take advantage of the down time to try some new baking recipes she had acquired after nearly turning the cook book section of the library upside down. Luckily Wally had agreed to help test some of her baking, and even help with the process; after all, he had said that baking was practically a science.

She's in the Home Economics room now, an apron tied neatly over her civilian attire and all the proper tools and ingredients laid out on one of the many islands in the classroom, and she's practically humming with anticipation.]

Alright! Which recipe should we start with?

[Bring on the baking! This is pretty much a win-win situation for Wally. Not only does he get delicious food, but he gets to spend some alone time with M'gann. Unfortunately, his excitement at the alone time is dampened by a nagging voice in the back of his head. His memories have a bad habit of flickering back to the carnival, and then what he picked up from Artemis when he had his extra powers.

Ignores the nagging voice and memories for now, because that's clearly the healthiest way to deal with the situation. He's got a "kiss the cook" apron on and is reading over a cook book.]

Everything looks good to me. Whatever you want to try your hand at.

[And M'gann begins to get all the ingredients together, separating the dry and wet ones and checking the cookbook to make sure everything is in order.]

Eh, it's okay. Not digging the technology here or the dinosaurs. But at least the team's here. Otherwise, I think I'd have already gone crazy.

[Helps out when he can, zooming in and out with different ingredients and checking the measuring cup like they are beakers from his lab.]

[There is always a quiet voice of warning Kaldur feels when he spends time in the kitchen with M'gann. Never by her own fault, but by Kaldur's one instincts. It makes him feel like a poor excuse for a friend--your instincts should not tell you to seek shelter when your friend is cooking--but at least he can admit she's gotten better...some what.]

Many of these dishes are new to me, so whichever you believe would be the most suitable.

[M'gann is ecstatic that Kaldur had taken up the offer to join her in her baking experiment. She looks through the countless options she's tabbed in the cookbook before finally deciding:]

Peanut butter cookies? They don't look too hard to make. Do you like peanut butter?

[It's starting to feel like she's always seeing Megan in the kitchen. Cissie peers in the doorframe for a while before very cautiously walking inside and waving at them. (Even if she's not Wally's biggest fan, she's not going to be mean for the sake of being mean!)]

[Despite M'gann's endless cheerfulness, the sight of Cissie causes the martian to beam further. She gives the other female a wave before picking up the cookbook to show her the image inside.]

Only if you two don't mind. [She giggles, glancing at the image. Cissie's not much of a cook herself, but food's the quickest way's to Bart's heart...]

[Nura had been looking for the library when a vision came to her, causing her wobble down the wrong hall, down a flight of stairs, then to the door of the home ec room. Sounds unbelievable, but with Nura, quite possible.]

They teach cooking here?

[The voice causes M'gann to look up; noticing the unfamiliar girl, she nods with a smile.]

Yes-- they have a Home Economics class which teaches cadets how to cook and bake. It's a lot of fun!
