Because I'd rather have my own natural abilities, and losing them for a month was a pain.

I can imagine. Abilities you're born with, accustomed to. And then to lose them all in a single stroke.

Or in your case, to have them replaced by the capacity to do something you couldn't care less about.

Pretty much. Fire is flashy, but I'd rather be able to run up walls.

I'm specialising in Martial Arts. I just prefer to punch things than let something else get in the way, like guns and fire and stuff.

Understandable. I don't pay attention to specializations when it comes to judging one's characters, although I should applaud you for taking the more physical route.

Not necessarily. You can say that's my preference rather, as opposed to physical combat. The types I've encountered seem to prefer hand to hand battle, though they're far from efficient in their behavior.
